So at 6 per month, you're 16 months away still?? Are they going to spool up more upgrades or am I missing something?

If we take 15 a/c this year and hold to the current staffing of 8 ca's per plane we'll need 120 this year. So like 10/mo average?

Here is my take.

147 airplanes by the end of 2021.

8 captains per plane roughly

147x8 = 1176 total Captains by end of 2021, we have 1066 listed in flica currently. I'm to lazy to add the total captains we have currently, but we are supposed to be at 80 planes by the end of 2015 so roughly 640 captains. They may staff heavy due to the large number of planes coming but it doesn't seem to me they will need large upgrade classes.

The reason I brought this up initially is because there is so much talk about quick upgrades (both good and bad)
I had a guy telling me a couple of days ago he really wanted to work here because of the quick upgrades. This is being fed to new hires and people at job fairs as well and it is unlikely to be the case for guys getting on now.

Feel free to correct me if I am missing something. I would hate to see guys coming here expecting to see 2.5 yr upgrades and a new contract then being in the right seat for 5 years under our current contract.

She ended up calling the CP, refusing to fly any planes that have the bags loaded in CP1.

I mean, this is wrong on a million different areas, as everyone on here knows.
Is this a former Waterskier, by chance?

I would hope that at this point any a pilots career they would know not to chase an upgrade. At any time we could defer orders and curtail growth and those upgrades can evaporate pretty quickly.

The math shows that if more aircraft orders are not placed in the near future to continue growth beyond 2020's, all new hires as of very soon (I'd gamble to say anyone hired after June) may kiss goodbye to the "two-and-half year upgrade." Lucky us that made it here during the 2006-2008 hiring spree (with no going to a job-fair nonsense). It's certainly nice to be amongst the one-third up the list. Keep'em coming...
