This transition conflict language has to stay in the new contract! No way to ever get it back. I loved getting trips dropped and pay protected and then picking up another trip and getting paid for that on top of the paid drops.

I can't believe people would want to get rid of our pay protected drops. Tell me it aint true!
Yeah and how does that benefit everyone who doesn't get conflict? The beginning of the month is always red and its very possible to still get screwed.
Id much prefer to see higher gaurenteed rates than hoping to hit a conflict.

Low pay rates anticipating theoretical quick upgrades are not going to attract talent, keep talent, or whatever else they may be thinking. Hear that sucking sound? That's the legacies moving in for the kill.

We're behind the regionals on this issue, which is bewildering to me. How does anyone think we're going to get pilots in this kind of employment market?

FO compensation now!

Agreed. Usually the first officer pay is around 2/3 of captain pay, so both need to come up to at least JB levels.

First year pay here is absurd. It was actually higher in the last contract than it is currently.

We chuckled a bit, when I told him what it was like to see the faces of those Comair Pilots the day I turned the lights out!

I knew we were going to be friends the day that James turned a blind eye to my past and gave Jyri and I a stay of execution. Pilots coming into OCC and manning the phones was an unexpected present.

Thanks Jimmy!

High five guys!

Gosh, those pesky mechanics really were greedy. You did a great job at showing them who controls the purse strings. It's a joint responsibility to make sure this airline survives and is profitable. All we need to do is scare these pilots a little, tell them their futures are in jeopardy like we did in June and BAM! we will have a line out the door to answer phones, clean toilets and reupholster the entry way in Miramar. What else are we going to do with our 4 days off?

Thanks again for the first class ticket all the way from Boise. It was nice to not have to mingle with the peasants in the back. BTW - I think I left my tab open last night at the Booby Trap after that round of table dances, but I was too drunk from all the celebrating. Did you close out for me?

Edit -- if anyone needs me Ill be in Miramar thru the weekend burning off the hangovers and telling the new hires by the pool to address me as Captain. We are trying to fix a bad gutter issue at the building and Im helping out since day laborers aren't included in a 2015 budget. If you call the scheduling tree press 2 for next day ops. Ill answer.

I am concerned how our long call reserve would affect open time or 200%. If say a long call reserve is basically on call 24hrs a day before given 12-16hours to then report, there will be no open time ever. Reserves will be used constantly. They can easily cover any trip without having to offer 200% or move up. The 200% gain we think they gave us might not really be that great. I heard at JetBlue or maybe American, once the long call reserve is used, you get converted to a short call reserve. Does anyone know for sure how well it works at other airlines?

At jb, Known open time is assigned the day before by 1200. LCL RSV almost never(that I've ever seen) get assigned a trip. Basically a free day off. But getting LCL is more of an unexpected gift that thhe norm. Most expect to get SCR. LCL is often times transitioned to SCR at the stroke of midnight, especially in the northern bases. RSV at jb is broken on so many levels I can't barely begin.

The upside to RSV here, is that guys who live in base bid senior RSV. I've been doing this in Mco since 2009. Worked about 93hrs this year. I'll caviot that with that's not normal, lol. I'm pretty senior in base and seat on the junior plane.

Can any of the more seasoned folks (those here for the strike) elaborate on how many sections of the contract were open last time around prior to mediation and how long past the amendable date it took to go to mediation??
