If they read this website, and you know they must, they know that we are all high fiving each other for being Spirit pilots.

If they pay attention to the suckkups working job fairs for free, they know we have no self respect.

If they logged in all of the union guys working ops for free last June, they know we have no self respect.

If they monitor the phones in ops for how many times some guys call in to fix a problem, they know we have no self respect.

Speaking hypothetically.. Say the average pilot has 6 four day trips dropped a year due to conflict... Because most pilots can get a conflict here and there whether it's R days, 29/7 or just by accident.

Let's say that averages out to 10 extra hours a month per year.. This new deal would actually be a pay cut at DOS vs our current crap rates and 10 hours above guarantee. Yes, it may be a stretch.... Just food for thought..

The LTD proposal is a joke as well. The buy up is only available with a 15% pilot group participation, so might as well consider that to be not an option to buy up.

So you are left with $5,000 a month from the company until social security benefits. What is $5,000 a month going to do today to support a family? How about in 20, 30 years? This is taxable so basically you will be living on 2nd year FO pay, hope you have a second career picked out.

If you are a CA, making $200k a year, a $5,000 a month LTD is the same as a 30% monthly payout on your salary. How many feel that 30% will take care of your family's needs for the next 30 years?

Can one of you more experienced NK guys explain to me (a new hire) how transition conflicts work today compared to the new proposal.

Is it correct that any trips with transition conflicts under the current language are dropped with pay protection without any requirement to replace those days?
And the new language now essentially requires you to "make up" those days on days off in the next month?
Trying to wrap my head around this issue. Thanks!

Maybe we should put this to a vote.....just in case the company truly believes this is how we value our services. Given all the concessions we make on a daily basis, it is quite possible (though I seriously doubt it) that company negotiators are this uninformed.

A 100% no-vote (or something very close to that) would certainly give our union's negotiators better footing when section 6 begins next year.

On top of everything that has been mentioned, I'm flabbergasted at the miserly FO rates. Some regionals already meet the first year pay proposal. Anyone getting hired from here on out (with over half of the 150 planes on property) is not going to be looking at a quick move to the right seat, and the NC needs to ensure that the FO's are looked after for the long haul! Low pay rates anticipating theoretical quick upgrades are not going to attract talent, keep talent, or whatever else they may be thinking. Hear that sucking sound? That's the legacies moving in for the kill.

We're behind the regionals on this issue, which is bewildering to me. How does anyone think we're going to get pilots in this kind of employment market?

FO compensation now!

So after James and I finished canoodling last night, we talked about how we could transition him into a sweet management gig. I told him that if he ever wanted to earn the big bucks (1.7 mil), he was going to have to royally screw his buddies (remember those annoying NWA mechanics). We chuckled a bit, when I told him what it was like to see the faces of those Comair Pilots the day I turned the lights out!

I knew we were going to be friends the day that James turned a blind eye to my past and gave Jyri and I a stay of execution. Pilots coming into OCC and manning the phones was an unexpected present.

Thanks Jimmy!

High five guys!

Bad idea! Lets say it passes by 51% then we just gave ourselves a pay cut. Plus once we lose the transition conflict language then it is gone for good.

This transition conflict language has to stay in the new contract! No way to ever get it back. I loved getting trips dropped and pay protected and then picking up another trip and getting paid for that on top of the paid drops.

I can't believe people would want to get rid of our pay protected drops. Tell me it aint true!
