No, they didn't mis-speak. You just didn't read the proposal carefully enough. It tops out at year 13, I assume the additional two years are there for reference only as compared to our current CBA.

Just like gonyon spouting about how the NC will do everything according to their own desires. When, in fact, they said at least a dozen times in yesterday's call that the results of the survey will direct their steps going forward. If they wanted to sell this turd of a 'TA' and get their money for themselves at the top-end they could have easily done so.

I'm with the above poster who says to let them work. If you don't like something, talk to your reps. Include the NC as a cc on your email.

If you really feel it's necessarily, then vote to replace your reps. How about we start with James?

It's much easier to come on here and ***** and moan, blame everyone, call for resignations and spread misinformation huh?

I'm just a line pilot, I do my job and go home. I have given my leadership position in regards to our Spirit contract to my Union and have accepted my position is to follow them and to stay informed and help influence them. It seems most on APC think they are leaders and that they can do better, they know better, and that our leadership doesn't have our best interest at heart.

In reality all you guys do is hurt the pilot group by undermining our leadership and tearing down unity. Who's side are you on?
What misinformation has been spread? The NC all but admitted they were negotiating a B scale. I believe the intentions of the "focused negotiations" was to get a deal that benefits the top 3-400 guys. They needed to get it done by the end of the year to push through a vote that could still get them 51%. Hence why Bendo says we are close. Transition became the sticking point and now their strategy wont work as this drags on and the pilot group becomes more junior.
Like it or not it is going to be very difficult to get a majority of the pilots to subsidize atrocious payrates so a very small percentage can get better than Jetblue rates. Such a strategy will put us in an even worse position when we negotiate the next contract. There is no reason we shouldnt be negotiating industry average pay across the board.

It's a 13 year scale at DOS+4. Years 13-15 are the same rate.

Yes, and same at DOS+3, but at DOS it's a 15 year scale. That doesn't jive with what was said on the conference call. The Nc said they were pushing a 12 and 12 schedule, management countered with a 13-10 schedule. Details, the devil is in the details. If it's a 13 year schedule the company wants, then why is DOS-DOS+3 a 15 year schedule? I can accept a 13-10 schedule.

Well then, how the survey is structured and worded becomes very important if truly capturing the pilot groups wishes is a top priority isn't it?

So let's see if the next survey is worded/structured in such a way as to enable a pilot to express the priority on fixing the slope. The last one was too vague on that though I did add comments.

Someone on the call yesterday brought up an excellent point that every single month 20-30 guys roll off probation and become eligible voters. This average longevity of this pilot group is dropping every month.

I like that quote - "parity for all or it isn't parity at all". If we all vote accordingly none of this discussion need even take place.

Gotta read better, ramrod! The text you quoted says "all pilots." Never mentions anything about flight attendants, or anyone else for that matter. My wife gets 150sh of her company stock per year--as a part-timer. When the company does well (as it is now), it becomes a larger and larger portion of her total compensation. The beauty of stock grants vs stock options? If the company doesn't do well enough, many options expire worthless. With grants, you own the underlying stock regardless, it just might not be as valuable. Hell, work this into the retirement equation. Why just 10% DC? Why not 10% DC + 150sh stock grant.

It sounds like a good idea at first, but the last thing I want is stock as part of my pay. The stock market is too easily manipulated. just give me my pay and put some money in a 401k and keep my work rules.

Not that I will hear something right away however, I am currently updating my resume across all other majors.
