Obviously there is a limit but if they think I would sign alligiant today just to "get it done" they're nuts.

Really? If we gave up NOTHING. And I mean, NOTHING. AND gained in nearly every section of the contract, you would say 'no' to Allegiant rates?? It would at least give me pause....

I was making fun of a stupid idea that we should keep our below market rates for 4 more years in order to let other airlines acquire additional increases in their contracts.

I'm not going to negotiate specifics on this board.

The NC has already talked about conceding 29/7 which was the reason for half of my transition conflicts, so we are giving up things.

Allegiant's end rates in 2021 don't even touch what united makes today not to mention that united jumps to whatever delta negotiates as soon as delta signs. Then both united and American open negotiations again in 2019. Allegiant is going to be living under that thing for 10 years and it's going to look a lot worse than what we have now in just a few years. They are going to feel a little taken in a short time from now.

We are losing money everyday but I'd rather get the right deal than spend the 10 years following ratification losing money based on the market. This is the best negotiating environment we could ever see in a career. Every airline is printing money, the supply side is drying up slowly and every airline is hiring. It's the perfect storm. If we don't get it this cycle we never will. All that could change in an instant, sure, but I'm not going to agree to something subpar because there might be another 9/11 next week. And you can bet management will come looking for give backs any time there is a hiccup. We don't have that luxury and only can get raises when we are amendable so we have to get it now. No stepping stone contracts, no back loaded raises. I want it at dos. Management is playing their only card right now and that's the railway labor act stalling. It's a ford and Harrison staple. It's designed to wear us down and accept less.

When I sit on jumpseats of other airlines I hear "industry leading" "platform plus" etc and even at Jetblue. I'm not sure why we can't have the same attitude. The company proposed back on December basically what allegiant just signed and we laughed at them. Let's not waiver. We fly to same airports as every other airline in the country, in the same airplanes, with more people, and less support. We are professionals. Get paid like a professional. A spinal surgeon does 5-10 surgeries a week and I bet he thinks it's easy just like we think it's easy to shoot an approach down to mins in a blizzard. That's because we are pros. I'm not saying we should make professional spinal surgeon money but I absolutely think we should make professional A320 money. It's easy because you're a pro. Get paid like a pro and don't devalue yourself or the job you do.

So, the "industry average" our NCs going for includes profit sharing... right?
The "managers" I'm referring to are the 3 usual suspects. The guys who control the schedule and gates space and published departure arrival times. They talked the board into giving them a raise from 10% weight to 20%.
That's the outrage here. They are going to get a raise long before we are.
And we still have clowns flying around at CI99 to help out.
When is this union going to support a legal, actionable response to these slaps in the face?
Bueller?

Uhhhh, they just did. Did you read the Safety Memo about starting an APU for fire protection safety on the taxi in? That's going into an ops memo as we speak and will become policy after that.

It's beautiful because it's a legal action and it forces their hand because it's safety related.

The safety memo that was put out has absolutely nothing to do with our contract negotiations. Safety should never and will never be used as a bargaining platform for the contract.

That memo was released as a safety/ non-compliance concern regarding our operation. Nothing more, nothing less. The fact that it is legal and forces their hand is merely a side effect.

I kinda disagree. I don't think this obscure "life saving safety concern" would have been dumped on the company if we were a well paid and respected pilot group. I'd bet my savings that if we had annual profit sharing checks we would still be taxiing around on one engine and we would have never got the ALPA memo. Just my 2 cents.
