Did any information officially come out (non media)? I dont know about you, but I wasnt there.
A warm (hot) cabin is awfully subjective. A menopausal flight attendant saying its warm can mean a wide range of things. Its really too bad that the Temp indications on the MFD are not that representative of what is actually occurring. So we have to rely on FAs that arent that intelligent to provide us a picture of what is going on.
Im not saying the Captain was innocent here, just that untill something concrete comes out, we best not start acting like were all knowing and perfect.
An infant started having problems. Correlation does not mean causation. Has an official report been released on the infant. Maybe the kid had other issues. And again, how accurate detailed and timely was this information relayed to the captain?
All im saying is I want to see some official reports before I personally judge a situation. So again, did they come out and I missed it?

Sooooooo your saying you would rather run with here-say and believe that then facts?
So some here apparently believe that waiting for official reports to be released by those who are given the data, facts, and statements; is stupid?
Surely trying to be objective and consider all information isn't stupidly, is it?
Oh right, I did almost forget that this is APC. On here very few people are willing to resist witch hunts. No one here many think its best to trash a CA without ALL the facts in their hands, right?

Yes, yes I do. Here's a tip, excercise command authority. But you'd need experience to feel comfortable to do that, so I guess that's out

True too that experience is a huge player in the decision making process. No argument there. Do remember though, all the past experience is the result of real happenings and therefore are factual.
In the case of this PIC, I do not know what information was brought before him, or when. So I choose not to crucify him until A factual report is released. Appearantly I am the only one who thinks this way.

Though I certainly agree that a pic needs to excercise command authority, a PIC needs to deal in the world of facts. Gut feelings and here-say do NOT belong in the flight deck. Knowledge and data do. I am speaking from a position of 1000+ 121 TPIC.

Since you want to bring that little bit of information up, lets cover it. It is a science fact that at a certain age most women will enter menopause. One consequence of that is the temperature flashes. Really I feel bad for these ladies, that cannot be fun.
So what percentage of FAs in our company are in or over 50s? Also lets cover their intellegence. How many FAs do you see that are not the brightest? I know you personally have never thought an FA was not bright But most of us have looked at this required crewmember and thought they needed to have a higher mental caliber.
Not intending to be mean but these are 2 facts. Now sum them up. How many of our FAs are in the 50s plus and are not very bright (nice ladys, just not very intelligent)? Now what percentage of the FA group have we covered?
Finally lets give credit where it is due. I have had some amazing FAs over the years that are truly amazing. They do their job and do it well. Even above and beyond. I can trust these FAs. They are not who I referance above. And so everyone is clear, Some of these outstanding FAs have been in the 50+ category. They somehow do not crank the temp controller when the feel cold or vice versa.
Sure I admit it sounds not very nice, but facts are facts. Regionals are not interested in recruiting talent. Just people to report to work

Not all, but yes some. Oh and I reached that conclusion way before the 1000.

The FA (who may be unintelligent and or 50+) may not have been very vocal to the CA. Or the CA may have had no faith in her words. So taking that with a grain of salt and comparing that to the MFD may not have had a clear picture of what was going on.
Just a thought. Again awaiting official reports
