This is not true. KS was nothing more than a middle man during negotiations. Anything that involved money was run through upper TSH and sometimes up to Hulas. Of course they aren't happy about a min day, but to say they are surprised by it is false too. They ran simulations on a year's worth of non-optimized pairings. The union didn't sneak that by them.

You fly the XR! um ok schedules(if you make it back on time or they don't change days off), ok pay. Somewhat decent variety of flying, unless you're RDU.
Con: Uncertain future, probably a merge with Gojet. mom and pop operation, biased towards spending as little money as possible. Terrible maintenance. Terrible support. Airplanes aren't owned so nobody cares about them, nor will they as that costs money and why would you spend money on planes you don't own, hence flying with 5 deferrals and no parts. STL and everything that goes with that. TSA is not very respected in the industry, still thought of as a bottom feeder. That goes a long way with legacy recruiters, they prefer Skywest or exjet seems like. Pilots usually talk about leaving within a year or two and accept any other job even if it's not where they really want as long as they get out of TSA. Etc...
AWAC pro/con: No idea, I don't work there.

Day to day operations KS could handle without any input from upper management. But anything like the PBS negotiations had to go through everyone and our PBS agreement is excellent. FO has been extremely supportive of KS and I'm sure that will continue for LS.
As for minimum wage, he's been complaining since the day he got here. The pay scales are actually near the top of the industry. Who would want to buy 50 seaters in this market? Consolidation is needed and would benefit us in the long run. Am I saying this place is a perfect wonderful place with no draw backs? Absolutely not. Just not the complete doom and gloom picture. Maintenance seems to get better and worse but right now is seems to be worse - especially with APUs/packs which is no good for the summer.

As for being a bottom feeder, Im not sure I agree. Lakes and/ or Mesa. Now those are airlines I would consider bottom feeders. Not us.
And for my last point. We are a regional. Regionals suck. Why is it nobody can remember this point?!?! No regional is a good regional. Sure there are better regionals! But they are not all roses either. Choose a regional that looks the best at the time, and hold on! Its a helluva ride
