Regardless of why he left, KS was a breath of fresh air to this company, and an important buffer between the people at holdings and the pilots. This isn't good at all.
KS's value to this company was immense, and the fact that they didn't move hell and earth to keep him here says volumes about where we are going, and what is coming in our contract negotiations.

I don't normally agree with you, but I think you hit the nail on the head here. I think KS was a lot of help being a buffer and liberally used side LOAs and MOUs to improve the contract without upper management approval. He may have even caught grief doing so. However, not even Jesus Christ himself could get big ticket items past DR and FO without them black balling negotiations. I think they loosened the leash considerably trying to cover flying.

Initially it was KS versus the world with management. But I think over the years FO came around significantly to the possibilities of having a better relationship with the pilots than what existed pre KS. And this happened before "the great pilot shortage" existed.

We'll see when contract negotiations start. But don't be surprised to see them offer a concessionary contract with changes to the min day to make it more like Gojet. The only difference between TSA and Gojet was KS. We'll see where this goes but I'm not very optimistic given past behavior.

There are many more differences between the two airlines. For one, their contract is full of holes that allowed the company to just institute a PBS program unilaterally. It had to be negotiated at TSA. KS, while probably helpful in that regard, was just a go-between. FO and the infamous DH still had to sign off on any big money items like a min day. Your union is what got you that, not KS.

My point exactly. Without KS I see the same management group coming after us for a concessionary contract that will be more like Gojet. KS was the only sane, rational one of the bunch.
