To all mentors:

I am sure many of you have already heard the rumors. Let me confirm those rumors. You are about to get very busy mentoring again. New hire classes are starting next month again, and the projections are back up to about 1,200 new hires in the coming year. It seems the main constraint to class sizes is training center capacity...

I'm going to revisit this thread in December 2018. I'd bet after its all done the real number will be about 600-700. Thats still significant but I just don't see them training 1200 pilots next year.

I don't disagree.

1200 is probably theoretically possible but it's very, very, aggressive and probably the absolute limit. The final number can only be adjusted down.

FWIW, in the peak hiring years of '95-'01 LUAL hit a max of ~1000 per year during that period. That output occurred in the same facility but with fewer sims.

Apologies and suchforth.

Anyhow, 1,200 is great news. Also makes a lot more sense than 450.

It went to 9600 this time last year........it all depends on how many WB FOs decide they want a forth stripe.

Don't expect much of that, unless the rumor of additional 767s also comes true. Seems that we don't see much movement off of the 777s unless it is to 767 Cap or 777 Cap.
