Quite certain I recall a town hall meeting with some mgmt types a few years back speaking of 16,000 pilots by 2018. To their credit, that was when we had 65 737-700s inbound. We all know how that ended.

Early January CJO here, practicing my backstoke in the pool. Happy to swim as UA is my to choice.

Did anyone give you any indication of when to expect a class date?

Late Q1 or early-mid Q3. Basically got the gist it was either before or after the summer season.

So many rumors, so much misinformation and chaos from the company how could you or anyone else expect any of us to get our misinformation right? Just saying.

When it comes to misinformation mine is the most pure and fresh. I get my misinformation from the source. So if you want 100% non filtered, pure misinformation talk to me. Heck I and heard the 17,000 by 2019 number from Oscar himself! Misinformation doesn’t get any more pure than that.

If we just give up scope and allow the purchase of a foreign airline we’ll all be 787 captains by year end. 20,000 pilots flying for United! The only problem is that they won’t be on our list. The company wouldn’t take contract provisions to the limit would they? We should be getting fresh misinformation to talk about as this contract nears the amendable date. Should be entertaining, but the only thing that really matters is what is in the next TA. Until then it’s just speculation.
