Adding on, the crew resources update showed no growth in DCA on any airplane until at least July 2024.

Thanks for the info on IAD. Quick follow up question. Any guesstimates on how long it might take to get a vacancy/based in IAD as a new hire? Thanks!

Depending on the fleet, a few months for narrowbody to probably less than a year for widebody.

You could get here pretty quickly on the 737/320. Probably one vacancy. 756 maybe after a few vacancies. I've been here a year and a half and would still essentially be the plug on the 777 and very close to the bottom of the 787.

We just gotta wait for someone to figure out that IAD is a ghost town most of the day before they shift more narrowbody EWR flying down here.

They already know...that's why they're working on a new terminal to replace the RJ gates.

I started new hire training in late July of this year, hit the line in the 737 early Oct. One of my classmates got IAD 320 on his first vacancy bid. I got IAD 737 awarded in Nov, still waiting to get activated, looks like probably Feb. So on the narrow body, 2-6 months, wide body would be closer to 1 year. Good news is that commuting DCA to EWR is easy, 10+ flights every day.

As others have said, not much growth at IAD right now, but lots of potential...
