No, but I am a UMPP applicant with an availability date in late November. I am hearing UMPP applicants are getting class dates 1-2 weeks after their availability date. Just wondering the probability of getting a class date within the first couple weeks of December.

It is definitely a possibility. Basic Indoc is the first two weeks of New Hire Training (with the weekend off between those two weeks). That would complete before Christmas. You would then have time off (with pay) waiting for your aircraft specific training. This can be a few days to a couple of weeks. Even if it was just a couple of days, the Training Center is closed on Christmas, so you will not be scheduled on Christmas day. I could see them having new hire classes on the 1st and/or the 8th this year based on how the Calendar plays out with Christmas being on a Friday.

Of, course that all depends on how much training they are trying to get done over the winter. Winter is normally a pretty busy time for training in general and winter is usually a very busy time for New Hire training. However, the saying around aviation is that the Long Range Planning committee meets twice a day, so unfortunately any plan they have for next December is written in very light pencil at this point!

Like someone said the environment now is harder with spirit people coming etc. I’d get a meet and greet and another job fair, face to face time. Get a company to look over your app, checkandset etc etc improve low areas like volunteer (good way to do this imo is to foster a dog/cat and volunteer at a shelter that lets you not stick to a schedule)

Yes to all. Military service, bachelors degree, foreign language, perfect driving record, actively volunteering, 4 UAL letters of rec, and I've had my app reviewed by 2 different consulting firms and both said it looked great after some minor changes.

in that case I would just say keep plugging along. It should happen. Have you had a CPO Meet & greet?

More black marks on a persons training or employment history will necessitate greater numbers to make up for it. Do you have 1000 TPIC? It sucks but everyone I know with 3+ failures are struggling to move on. 121 fails take mountains to overcome.

Allegedly more than three check ride failures, or two 121/135 failures and OTS applicants from Aviate have been getting filtered out lately.

A few years since meeting UAL at a job fair? Time to start updating your app every 2-3 weeks and get back to meeting them every 6-9 months at job fairs. 4 years as a Captain? Try to get your PIC to 1750-2000, and become an instructor. A new type will probably help, especially at a UAL competitor, after those boxes are checked and still no call. Clean up your social media presence.

Is United even interviewing 2026 UMPP applicants?

Last I heard we had moved onto 2027.

You may need to switch to traditional. How long has your app been in?

I am getting ready to go live on my UMPP app with an availability of late Nov 2027. I know it's difficult to time but one of those first 2 Indoc classes in December would be ideal. I am hearing UMPP applicants are getting class dates within 1 week of their availability date. Is that still happening? Thank you!
