What you say is true, I’m the same percentage in both fleets. However if you put 60+ in this bid and it goes junior my seniority will increase in the 777. If the pilots junior to me switch fleets from the 787 my seniority will decrease on 787

As far as the 787FOs who are no longer frozen - are you suggesting that a bunch will bid down and incur a seat freeze?

No I think if they can get above the Gline on the 777 they may take that bid. Like I said if I can get below 80% (70% ideally) on the 777 in this bid I will take it to be off reserve.

60 sfo 777 FO’s are a lot but there are also a lot of people that want into a WB in sfo. My prediction, the most junior guy to get sfo 777 FO will be 10,500-11,000. Hope I’m wrong and goes deep into 12,000’s but guys have been waiting a long time to get a west coast WB bid.

Monday should be interesting for sure (and in no way representative of the final award).
Remember too that going 777-787 or vice versa carries a bid freeze. If your number comes up for captain during that freeze, you’ll be locked out from bidding it during said freeze (if that matters to you).

Anyone that wanted it could’ve had it around this time two years ago. 777/787 went into the 11k’s. Nothing on either fleet has moved much with the 747 displacements moving in since then. The only ones that may want to and haven’t had a shot at it are the new hires who’ve shown up since then.

18-05V had 3 vacancies and jr man was 7340
18-04V had 12 vacancies and jr man was 7475
18-03V had 4 vacancies and jr man was 6066
18-01V2 had 23 vacancies and jr man was 8233
I could see some awards in the 12,000 seniority, especially since these vacancies are 'competing' with the LAX787FO and NB CA vacancies. And let's not forget that the LAX777 pilots probably won't bid (small number) and there will be others waiting for EWR787 vacancies.

I recently went from 777FO to A320 CA in EWR. I couldn't be happier.
For me there were 2 primary issues. 1) There are a large percentage of captains in EWR on the 777 that are not enjoyable to fly with. 2) I found that I did not recover well from working on the back side of the clock which is what virtually every trip does on the 777 in EWR.
Most FOs on the 777 in EWR seemed to have no trouble switching back and forth in time zones, but I was not one of them. It really took a toll on my body. I already sleep better and feel better after only 2 months on the A320 flying trips that start after 7AM and finish by 10PM, and my May schedule has 17 days off and 78 hours. On the 777 I bid TLV and worked 12 days for 78 hours. I'm working 1 day more for the same hours but I'm infinitely happier. Just one dude's experience

I'm about 60-70% on the 777 and would be about the same on the bus unless the seniority of the awarded bid is drastic.
I've been on the 777 for something like 7 years and the 757 doing Europe for the same before that. While I do adjust to the time zones ok, I like the idea of not venturing too far from the home time zone for a bit to see how my body does.
I don't want to take a pay cut to do it, though. I'm curious as to what the average, 50-70% line holder does in a year when it's all said and done.

There have been several SFO777FO vacancies in recent bids. Not huge, but small to middle numbers of vacancies. That should help drive this 60 vacancy bid lower in seniority.
