Hmmph, I didn't realize I was that popular. Back on topic though, if your insecurity leads you to feel that your primary concern is about what kind of panel you're pushing through the sky, by all means UAL is the better choice. If not, and you'd be driving to work at MCO, the choice for me would be obvious. Then again this is a United forum so of course the opinions will be skewed. I'll proceed back to my "guppy" fishbowl I suppose.

And It's not just the airplane.
If the OP stays, he can fly to Rome three times a month on the dates of his choosing. And make more for doing less than just about anybody. Southwest is a great company and an amazing culture, but I cannot imagine choosing to abandon the career he'll (likely) have here for the career he'll (likely) have there.
Subjective as heck, YMMV.

It's not a fishbowl, it's just that you haven't been exposed to an airliner that is nice to fly. The guppy - and I earn my living on one - absolutely sucks.

Subjective is the keyword. You should have started and finished with that. Everyone has their priorities. Personally, I'd rather go to Rome on my few weeks OFF using one week of vacation, while driving to work. YMMV.

In response to some of the posts and to clarify some things: I'm single and don't have any kids yet, so commuting and time away from home at this moment isn't much of an issue.
I just turned 27 in May, so having a good 38 years left in the career under current rules is also something I'm factoring into my decision making.

I honestly can't imagine a 30+ year career flying the same airplane to the same places, again and again and again. It's the modern day version of Sisyphus. That's not to say some people wouldn't enjoy that, but certainly not me.
