You should’ve let it go through the process...but you got your sweet premium so it’s all good.
I think the process is fine. If it wasn't it would be a grievance....

If a pilot is available for SRM and he tells scheduling he is willing to do it, and scheduling assigns it to him/her it's all good. Am I missing something?

Mako wants to burn the company to the ground for things that happened to half our current airline years ago with no management left from that time. We’ll show them how to get what exactly we want.

What is it that we want again?

My last car was a lemon so I’m gonna drive my new one into a wall before it has the opportunity to break.

Youthful enthusiasm is awesome...at a pep rally, maybe. Mako doesn’t want to burn anything down. He’s just been around long enough to see a few cycles of the industry. Airline management is all the same. They will show their true colors again. Give it time.

Love it when FNG’s get on here and tell us all about reinventing the wheel so listen up and learn grasshopper. Mako and a select few of us have seen this dog and pony show more times than we’d care to admit and to date, it’s never ended well by sitting around and trusting management blindly.

Until management ceases to be a revolving door of parachutes, I'd agree.

This place has become a piggy bank for MBAs.

That being said, times are good and I am optimistic.

We have the same provision at Delta for trips departing in less than 3 hours. The company does however have to identify the pilot who should have had the trip if the trip coverage steps were followed and pay him also.

Couldnt agree more. The problem with pilots solving the companies problems is that it makes it look like they have no problems. Greed takes control of some.

Stuff happens all the time at the last minute. I have volunteered to bail the company on on a few ocasions. Burning it down in times of prosperity is agreeabley not an answer. But, no one here is advocating that.

As has been mentioned, follow the contract, let the process work, or not work as in this case. There are avenues to follow so the situation can be resolved to everyone's benefit. No one is advocating to short circuit the contract at someone elses expense.

Settle down, the business and to some extent contract talks are cyclic with the ecomony. Helping the company does not mean you are anti-union, or pro management. It does help our customers. After all, that is why we fly planes, is it not?

Well said.

I would’ve done exactly what the OP did, it’s a win for everyone, most importantly the people that pay our salary and we want them to return again and again. It was within the confines of the UPA.

Anyone butthurt by it needs to reevaluate whether they’re part of the problem or solution. I for one would like to see the good times keep rolling, keep your powder dry for now.

Sounds like he was helping himself, as well as the 130 passengers who have no dog in the fight.

Don't be burdened by the idea that our company's public image wasn't tarnished again.
