I quoted his post. Direct cut and paste and didn’t add any of my own wording to it.

What you quoted was not asking for an apology.

Good lord. I hope you all can look back at these posts of irrelevance/nonsense in your older/wiser? years and reflect on them. To those who are already at that stage of life, please retire already and, more importantly, move on with what should be more important in life...…..

The pilot uniforms make me nervous enough already (and I wish I could unsee the FA uniforms). The colors across the work groups draw straight from the palette of branded colors announced a while back (such as Pacific Blue, Premium Purple, etc). Go watch the "Evolving our Brand Design" video on united.com if you aren't familiar.

What really makes me sweat is the idea of this color palette possibly being applied to a new livery and such. We might be able to get the uniform look where we want, but I don't think the colors can possibly be applied to a classy, timeless livery. In other words, I'm afraid the CO has been building momentum for a while towards a livery that we are going to be stuck with for upwards of a decade. Uniforms are not that expensive to swap, but once a livery is announced or painted reversing it is a tough proposition. Even if you are o.k. with look/comfort of just the pilot uniform I'd suggest fighting it out on this line now. If/when new livery gets announced based on this palette, the fight only gets tougher. I will fling spaghetti of all types at every wall I can find to try and get something to stick. I hope others feel the same way.

some uniform questions

1. do the pants have pleats or pleat options?

2. do the pants have "flex" in them? Do they have a flex option? IE elastic in the waistband??

Every time I read the word "palette" I am convinced non-pilots are pulling the strings.

When pilots are in charge of stuff, the stuff works!

Sorta like non-pilots hiring pilots. Keep the non-pilots out of pilot-land.

See answers in red above.

Cool first post.....

Some of us care what we will have to look like at work. What our family and friends see us wearing to work. Doesn’t matter the age.
I wouldn’t be caught in any plum purple color...ever. Such is life and some of us care if we look like a joke at work in front of thousands of people a day.

I care to look like a professional. Pilots in general are conservative in dress and oppose change. Military flights suits for example. Military Uniforms.
United Airlines uniforms for the last 80 years.
THAT is why so many are opposed to this change. Our entire careers are spent looking for and feeling out things that don’t look right and fixing them. TEM.

Maybe you need to dig a little deeper and be more professional.

If the color of your tie is the determining factor on whether or not you’ll be “professional”, then I’d say YOU may need to dig a little deeper.
