Also, you can play the bump game. Bump into a category where everyone expects more bumps due too many pilots bumping into the fleet. Then get bumped again....and again....all the while, E.G. if you are a 757 pilot with no plane to fly, you get paid to stay at home. When the 727's were parked, we had pilots being bumped and training cancelled for over a year. Paid to stay at home....
Agreed, not very good for the company, but the contract is what it is.
Enforce your contract, insist on it!

So you would enter EWR 787 F/O (and any other choices in order), then leave the volunteer box unchecked. At least that is the way it worked in prior displacements.

Ok.. so I’m reading 8-e. As long as the company has the same number of captain set as the min system wide across all fleets and stay out of reduction mode, they could go all the way through a tertiary displacement to bump people down to 737 or airbus. 20 days for the first, 10 days for the second and 7 for the tertiary. Getting very close to desired levels before going into reduction mode. Closer to the middle of summer. And by that time there will be fewer places to go as the stove piping of the seniority list will be closer to reality. And they can start training immediately after the tertiary bid. As the downgrades are short courses. And they can bump nb captains to similar seniority levels on both Boeing and Airbus

Everyone just take a deep breath and wait for the forthcoming announcement. The company just recently pushed the May 1st town hall to the 5th for a reason.
While I’m not privy to the discussions between the union and the company I can tell you they are going on.
Rather than try to sharpshoot the answer wait for it. It might surprise you.
And, what individual pilots elect to do will surprise them. Then round two comes.....

Ill just say the company’s master plan we will see in the near future seldom goes as they plan. That includes parking two fleets post 9/11 or parking the 400 in more recent times.
