I think Europe 756 flying is going to get hacked. Its going to be a bloodbath in EWR.

this will inevitably be larger and more complicated so it may take longer......my guess is that this notice to the pilots is a formality. My bet is the SSC and crew resources already know how this is going to go down and already have an agreement in place.
8-I-6 Although the Company makes the final decision on allocation of flying issues.....

There is no agreement required. The Company has just started step number 1 in the process. They submitted this NPDM to the SSC as required by our contract. The SSC can now make recommendations, but the company has the final say. I only point this out because it seems, from other forums, that pilots are directing anger towards ALPA for not being forthcoming with the details. They likely just received this NPDM.

It will be a bloodbath across the board. EWR 756 is one of the few BES that I think will survive. EWR, IAD, and DEN are the only places that it makes sense to keep the 756. You can fly whatever equipment survives domestically and then run thin European markets when things improve. I can see DEN staying open simply because they like using it for Hawaii.

Concur with the estimates posted above. As others have also stated, I can’t imagine they would completely park the 767s as we don’t have enough 78s to fly the Europe routes out of EWR and IAD in the event recovery by next summer occurs even moderately. I’d have to go back and look at pre-covid flying, but suspect ORD may also fall in this category. 75 CONUS flying is gone for good, hence the bases MoP listed seem most logical. Most of these NPDMs were easy, open and closed with follow on action within days. This one, not so much.

The email was sent to whatever address ALPA has for you. If you are not receiving updates on regular basis log onto your ALPA account and verify they have the correct address.

That said, we only know that NPDM 20-01 exists. The actual text of the NPDM has not been released so there will be "consultations" with the ALPA SSC and then the actual displacement will be released.

We will get to see the content of the NPDM soon enough. That will just be the tip of the iceberg, everything is dependent on market recovery.

Hoss, since you’ve done the bump game before would you mind sharing your strategy to those of us who are about to see our fleet displace? I’m senior in my BES so curious if there is a benefit to volunteer for a first round displacement vs waiting for any follow up displacements. That assumes they don’t shut down SFO/LAX right away with one big displacements.

IAH 777 closed - all routes can be served with a 787 our new ones have to go somewhere......
DEN 787 Closed - the INTL out of DEN will be the last routes to come back the big hubs need to fly first and we can’t afford to spread out the flying.
CLE737 closed - No better time than now......
SFO 756 Closed
LAX 756 Closed
IAH 756 closed - all INTL routes will be better served with a 787.

Going to be ugly.....just rip the bandaid off quick.
Don’t forget about the DEN 756 category...
