Hmmmm excuse me, logic is not allowed here under any circumstances.
If you see a Master Warning Light flashing today that is a CONCESSION. Why? Because management wants you to push it, and we’re not gonna to do what they want at all 😬.

The MPG is there to keep the company from treating the pilots like migrant farm workers, lowering it is a concession. Period. Open time? That’s funny.

Exactly. With the entire aviation industry, worldwide, reeling from this pandemic where do people think they’ll find a job? Not in aviation for sure. Kudos to you if you’ve got a second career to fall back on but I’d guess most don’t. At least not at anywhere near what even a reduced MPG would pay. QOL matters to me more than raw $$$.

Can someone please explain to me what I am missing. Been here for 23 years and a 777 FO. If this AIP rumor is true, am I to understand that some JUNIOR to me will be pay protected in a capt seat even though they can NO LONGER hold that seat? How does this SCHEME save jobs? If this rumor is true, the NC should all be recalled.

Why were you not jumping up and down and whining when the guy junior to you took the Captains bid?

Choice and lifestyle.

They took the bid when the can hold it, I passed on it by choice. Now that they are bumped and CANNOT hold that seat any longer, they should not be pay protected. It’s a carve out, plain and simple and DOES NOT honor the seniority system.

United pilots will take a pay cut (concession) to grow the airline: to save the airline: to buy the airline; to save the pensions; to save the furloughs. When will we learn...

SK and Team knew how to play this. Guess he gets the Black/White Chips.
We get energy bars.. though some will only get 50% of them! (too Soon?)

At this point, not matter how we vote, he wins.
If it gets voted down.. he gets to claim it was our fault, and we are divided.
If it gets voted in.. he gets to claim he helped save jobs! (and lower pilot labor costs for years!)
Oh, and we are divided.

Always

100% agree. Only concessions I'm wiling to take have been in the VSRL opportunities. It's voluntary and within the contract. Good for some, not for others. Not one dime, We'll never get a damn thing back if we give it up. Not sure why so many don't see this or think, "we're in a new era". Same old BS. Let management figure it out. If they furlough so be it. At least when guys come back, it'll be to a good contract. Hold the line guys. Quit being a bunch of ............
