Imagine having worked here for 25 years and having 3 or 4 kids in college. Imagine guys junior to you getting bumped to the right seat and keeping their Captains pay. Imagine them being able to cherry pick all the open time while you have to figure out how to live on a big paycut. This mess is the wrong pilot solution to a problem not of our making and not our responsibility. They will be dancing on the tables in Willis if we agree to this.

YES getting furloughed sucks! Been there, done that.

The contract is sacrosanct, or at least should be. When I was a jr maggot I took the job KNOWING I WAS CHAFF. Stuff happens in this industry. Once per decade. And suddenly you're an old guy and find out that you have toiled for 20-30 years under one concessionary contract or crisis after another. Best of luck young timers, your career earnings will be decimated by this.

We fly, they manage. Why is that so difficult for pilots to understand? This is their problem. They still have a LOT of money and access to aLOT more. Meanwhile, we have a contract. This perpetuates the idiotic cycle of us bailing them out. This sucks on dozens of levels.

Powder dry? We should just flush it down the toilet since we don't have the smarts or the balls to use it.
There is always something that is left out of the rumors that makes it into the final agreement. Its always in the fine print.

We still don't know the details. You can't make a decision without the facts. Might be a good time to walk away from the computer, play with the family, and come back next week to find out if our opinion will matter. A lot of half cocked ideas and what if's. If you people are talking from experience how about you act like it. You don't know what you are saying NO to.

He’s good for more than just fishing pictures. A furlough does suck. Been there too, but living under a crap contract and spending a career trying to claw back what was given up is pretty bad also. We like to bash other companies for accepting less and helping the downward spiral, but when it comes time to back it up and say no more, even when we are standing on the gallows, we suddenly want to play let’s make a deal. I’ll give this thing a fair read, but I can’t imagine what will have to be in there to get a yes vote out of me.

you missed the part where displacements are cancelled. You get to be NB CA at 36.5 hours, or NB FO at 73. Still a cut, but not nearly what you are suggesting. Hopefully you read it and actually consider the good and bad. If it sucks more than it doesn’t......vote no.

Anyone hired before the contract extension passed gets a minimum of 90 days notice. I believe that date was 1/1/2016. We also get furlough pay depending on years of service.

So w a 50% pay cut it would take me a year to make what I would in 6 months if furloughed tomorrow. I’ll take the 90 day furlough notice and be out the door on day 91. Find me a job(hopefully) and still be sucking on United’s tit for another 3 months.

FOUR kids in college? They do know it’s supposed to only take 4 years, right?!

Or that theoretical pilot had all four kids in a 4-year span....

Wait wait, Trump said the virus was just going to disappear soon. So it’s all fixed! We don’t need an AIP or a vote!
