“Yes” voters will tell you that you CHOSE not to upgrade, and you CHOSE not to bid WB FO...as if we were supposed to foresee how ****ed up an LOA our union leadership could come up with.

Its better than zero but its not something to parade around about.
Some have short memories....in 2001, there was arguably less disruption to the industry (as far as load factors), yet all the majors went quickly to furlough. Only consideration was whether to cover COBRA payments for those who couldn't get insurance otherwise. Literally by November 2001, there were 1000's of pilots on the street, no warn notices, no boosted unemployment, no offers of LOA's. Main difference then was the price of oil was climbing fast and the industry was way over capacity. So in this context, I'd say ALPA negotiating a furlough mitigation plan that at least 50% (75% at Delta) of the pilots could agree on is somewhat of a feat, so yes congratulations.

You’re comparison of the airline industry in 01 vs now is more than short sighted. Available liquidity was a major factor almost 20 years ago.

And you are looking at what to you appears to be greener grass without realizing UAL and DAL are not the same, have different management with different goals walking into negotiations, and above all different CBAs.

I made an observation regarding the dynamics of the airline industry during 2001-03 vs the present landscape. Yet you’re back trying to quell the angst of buyer’s remorse regarding the current UAL vs DAL LOAs.

It’s bad enough that this UAL MEC product was admittedly engineered not for its original intent, but to be a memrat vote generating machine to guarantee passage. Further made worse by the fact that it couldn’t stand on its own merits but had to be sold with promises and fear. Now the cherry on top is an LOA comparison after the agreement has already been implemented. Only reason Todd would need to do that is an attempt to cement his legacy and influence the LEC elections.

I gotta ask Lee, how heavy are those pails water you’re carrying?

arent you tired yet? It’s over and can’t be reversed......move on to your next soap box we understand your position here.

Lee isn’t carrying water because it doesn’t need to be carried......why? Because it’s over.

Oh I was done until the recent MEC message spinning this LOA. It seems Todd and the boys aren’t done yet either.

Seriously? You want to yank the furlough fund because the LOA vote didn't go your way? Classy.

I’m well into the bottom 1/3 and had a furlough notice in hand. I of course would benefit from the rest of the pilot group picking up the tab on my health insurance. But you are correct, I also voted no to the LOA even though I have benefited immensely from it. Out of principle, I could not vote yes.
