Really, is that so? Another interesting take, of course substantiated by all of the evidence you provide for that opinion. You have all of the answers it seems, so long as it runs parallel to a political ideology. Just wondering, do you also apply the same logic to BLM? What about Antifa?

Oh yeah, is it sour grapes? Haha, you bet. Who is it again working for a company demanding government bailouts for the second time in the last decade while simultaneously begging for voluntary early retirements? Who is it again getting paid a fraction of min guarantee to stay home? Yeah, I’m not the one working for a company that proudly proclaims they will place at least 1/2 if not the majority of their future pilots in their cockpits who’a first and foremost qualification is their genitalia or the color of their skin. You must be very proud of your un-sour grapes

How can you say females never saw aviation as an option growing up without blaming someone or something? If that's your position, it was obviously a result of a general group of people or something that made them feel that way, if true. Thats my issue with your premise. Why is it so absurd to recognize the fact that aviation, if not the profession of airline pilot is inherently not something appealing to females relatively speaking to males? You ask why is only 7% of airline pilots female? Is that a rhetorical question? Or are you opposed to critical thinking and logic as to why that is? Are there people, communities or institutions that have actively suppressed females from this profession? Please point to who or what that is. There are plenty of other fields and professions I could list that are dominated by males - It is called human nature. Of course, I realize that runs contrary to your likely liberal view point that everything is outcome based where every person attains the same equal result. In case you can't figure it out for yourself, which you obviously can't, United force feeding females and people of color into a cockpit is the opposite of progress and treats people unequally based on their genitalia and color of their skin.
Isn't that the opposite of what they are trying to accomplish ?

Most of the female pilots I know have had both and more than once. Discrimination in this industry wasn’t that long ago, and word got around. Glad to see someone doing something about it.

Can United get sued for choosing a less qualified candidate over a more qualified candidate based on race or gender? I don’t see how that can possibly be legal.

I curious as to how you think that can be proven without interfering with a Company’s right to hire who the wish based on the “fit” of a candidate for example. How would you prove the violation in your hypothetical?

Amen brutha.
Anywho, sorry to disrupt the race/sex-baiting and schoolyard insults but I just thought I'd point something out.
In the next decade, the announced 50% goal seems to be almost unobtainable considering where we are starting from as of this week. And yet, that might be wholly intentional. For whatever reason, sooner or hopefully much later someone is not going to make it through the Aviate program or reach it to UAL. A lawsuit or several will probably result. If charged with discrimination UAL will have an excellent defense at the ready: "We sincerely wanted this disadvantaged pilot to make it through the program and help meet our publicly announced hiring target... but he/she just didn't meet our uncompromising performance standards." Seems like a good defense to me.
Now, give me time to step out of the way of any renewed mud slinging. I've got to keep my hat and jacket clean another week.
