The bottom of the seniority list in a BES will generally get hammered with work when the line credit average is 85 hours or greater.

With that said “average credit per day >6 hours” works pretty well but you have to learn how to use it amongst all the other commands in PBS. I used bid nav until it taught me enough about the system to do it on my own then canceled it. I recommend doing the same.
Thank you, that gives me some better expectations.

Even being junior, it shouldn’t be that hard to get schedules where you’re flying four 4 days per month. Once you’re living in base, you’ll be working 16 days/mo and gone for 12 nights/mo. Until you get more senior I don’t think you’re going to do much better than that.

As another poster said, fly the trips starting with redeyes-not fun for you but gives you a lot more family time.

Maybe try 3-4 bid groups with only 2 commands:
-a Set command for max credit
-award work

Over the 3-4 bid groups start the set command with 75 then relax it to 78, 83, then 85 hours.
-make sure you put bid groups after the 4th one just in case it fails.

Hope it works out for you and your family.
Thank you!

Find a way to take out at least one of the variables. The pilots or FA's should stay on the inbound plane. Dump the idea of having stray extra FAs coming from different inbound flights.

Crews sitting in places like Cancun with 3 hour sit having to clear customs and no where to sit, is a disgrace.

The contract should not say 5 hours AVERAGE pay over the trip. If we got 5 hours minimum pay per day, then the schedules would reflect that.

This is not meant to be a legacy fight. Legacy UAL was happy with 20 hour 4 day trips. Legacy CAL had 28 hour 4 days and 23 hour 3 days.

Productive pairings can still have 20 hour layovers in Cancun, Cabo and the Caribbean, if we don't sit around all day in airports not getting paid.

Sure, the bottom of the lists will still fly the crappier trips, but at least they will have something to look forward to.
Thank you. It’s only taken a couple of months to figure out that we have the worst trip rigs and reserve rules of the big 4. Is that something that will change? Or more appropriately, is it reasonable to expect those work rules to change? I know that’s probably years away. I have no idea how long it takes to negotiate a contract. When I talked to my SWA buddies about their rigs and what they pay, and my Delta buddies about their reserve rules, it really pushed me off the cliff. Our work rules are **** poor.

Work rules is a pretty broad term, but I would venture to say that our reserve rules are dead last.

I’m sure it’s bearable when they get their profit sharing checks or excess DC contribution check, unlike UAL, which has a RHA trust. I don’t see how ANY pilot could Deadhead enough to think a first class seat is a massive selling point.

You do realize you can use the RHA money for medical costs right? I think you can't go wrong with any of the Legacies.

It's got to be a step up from the regional airlines, right? It seems like the reserve rules are at regional level, everything else seems nice.

I mean you can get 18 days a month off once you get some seniority but expecting it as a new hire is unrealistic. Sounds like it’s time to ditch the old ball and chain or find another job.
I wondered the same.

In another thread he said retired military.

If he was AD, I find it comical.

Since just about EVERY mil guy I know says the QOL/time at home blows away most of their mil career.

No kidding...that "victory" ranks about as high as getting our crew meals served on china dinnerware. Makes me sick how giddy people are for a first class seat like its their first time. BFD....

I'll take our fleet/contract over Delta's any day, my ex-NWA friend over there is not and has not been impressed.
