If a 4 day has you showing up early (not able to commute) and getting done late (not able to commute), that sucks. I get it.
But what does it pay? Currently, the min would be 20 hours but should it pay 20 hrs or more like 24.. or higher?!
With today's aircraft order announcement, we better start looking what our UPA looks like in 2030, cause we could be operating under any next UPA at that point.
(Ask ANYONE who Voted on UPA'12 if they thought that the UPA would still be in place 10+ years later)
All of a sudden, that 5:20 MPD doesn't actually sound like it's enough! {Yes, 5:20 is my min for any new agreement}
I am paid to work, I get it. But I also expect an Honest Contract that respects my skills while not destroying my body and brain while doing it...
FS, FP & FtC

PS) Hope to see you at EWR tomorrow (14 Dec)

That’s relatively high seniority to hold Captain, right? You guys can usually be NB CA line-holders with 55-60% systemwide seniority?

Lately it’s been 1 yr (contract minimum) for upgrades. TONS of people have made the choice just to stay in the right seat until a contract improves our HORRIBLE reserve rules. Throw in bases like EWR and SFO which historically have high commuter % and it’s added up to unfilled CA slots currently. Strange times here but I’m betting things will revert back to more normal levels after we get a contract with at least palatable reserve rules. The snapshot yesterday had pilots with less than 20 yrs on property getting awarded WB CA.

This is where we (sometimes) lose the public and the company (ie.. management)

2nd question: usually yes. Outliers are CLE, GUM, and IAH. But IAH seems to be moving a little now after stagnating for a few years.
I was only referring to the MCO snapshot BEFORE the bid is even closed. It filled up and the most junior pilot holding MCO 737 captain is senior to me by about 250 numbers.

On the Min/Max for this bid
IAH 592 Guppy CA
EWR 438
Many of our multi day trips are now start with a leg to SFO/EWR come back last leg. This time last year there seemed to be much more out and back.

I don’t know if we really have much movement in IAH. The growth I see is from forcing flying in because they can’t fill the coastal slots. I’ve been on this plane long enough to remember when we displaced 100 CAs out of IAH after the last time they did the IAH forced flying thing.
