ah, someone who evidently hasn’t sat FSB in California… I drove longer to get to/from an (unused) FSB than the length of the FSB… and I was staying 15 miles from the airport… that’s at least worth whining about!

That’s only true if the can’t just reassign us more. And based on the latest update, our reassignment rule improvements don’t explicitly do that. So it’s just robbing Peter to pay Paul. It’s short-sighted, in my opinion, to improve reserve to the extent that it degrades lineholder schedules, where people will spend the vast majority of their career.

ill say this again, as a partial response to your point…if reserve was good, you could just spend the vast majority of your career on reserve, barely working, yet still getting paid.

why do you want a 90 hour line when you’re in your 60s?

our reserve is so bad that it seems like most older UAL can’t even imagine things being better and how it would trickle up.

You might be surprised at how many senior bidders bid reserve by choice when the reserve is good enough to do so. It's good for all bidders when there is more choice for everyone. But more importantly, for every senior bidder that bids reserve, there is one more junior bidder who gets a line - not to mention that there are more trips available lower which enhances lineholder schedules. Frankly, I submit it's short-sighted NOT to improve reserve.

I didn’t say we shouldn’t couldn’t, etc. make it better. I said we shouldn’t at the cost of lineholder reassignments.

Based on the last update, the NC isn’t addressing it with their proposed and agreed to reassignment rule changes. You can’t spend most of your career on reserve if it only apply to 20% of the positions and people who could bid “senior” reserve wouldn’t be the ones flying 90-hr lines. 90-hr lines are for those junior in a cat when LPAs are high.

LOL. Over at the D(bag) Air... line, I'm super glad the woke mob doesn't want to fly tired, doesn't want to eat crap snacks, demands better pay, and their expectations are for a better work/life balance. This is how change for the better happens. Good luck to all y'all.

DId 6 mo Guppy reserve in LAX. It was pretty a quick ride from my El Segundo crash pad adjacent to a bus stop. I could see the the south runway complex from my window. LOL

OK. Perhaps a bit harsh. My apologies. But I do tire of the whine. At least a jet engine stops whining at the gate. Cheese and Rice. After sitting about 6 years on rsv AND 15 years in the right seat, it's just hard to listen to, and still a loooong ways to go to 65.
