After a quick look, it doesn't seem as good as Delta's. Correct me if I'm wrong:
pay rates: same (Delta will snap up and we'll match)
reserve: Delta (no qualifiers on 18 hour call out and no Global)
401k: same
profit sharing: same
sick leave: Delta
re-assignments: ?
retro: same?
commute: Delta-ish (they can book JS, but we get one option IF we buy a ticket)
Does anyone see any category where United out-did Delta? I hope the P2P's will put together a comparison document.
Not a dig at the union, this is totally on United management, but this AIP should have been the company's offer the day after Delta's AIP went public. With all the wrangling go on for the last 4 months, I thought we were going to get a BETTER contract than Delta. There should be a painful retro add-on from Delta's DOS to our DOS.

Are you saying that Delta’s policy is to remove the Captain’s authority? If so, how is that done within FARs?
I wouldn’t vote for any degradation of Captain’s authority. Further, I don’t think I’d support a degradation of “seniority order”.
This doesn’t appear to be in the agreement so it’s not really up for debate, but honestly I wouldn’t see that as a win. Certainly a conversation for next time.

I’m certain that United pilots can also “book” the jumpseat. I do it all the time. It is as you know awarded in seniority order with the Captain having the final say.

That said, the preamble says it all:
This document highlights the AIP by subject area. It does not include every negotiated item. The document is not comprehensive of every term, phrase, or concept within the agreement. We recommend you approach this document as an Executive Summary and will be updated as necessary.
Trust but verify.
