Not to re-stir the pot, but there seems to be not necessarily be consensus on the OP's question. The discussion about aircraft deliveries leaves me a bit confused as to growth/progression over the next few years. As a Spirit guy starting next month, the 'bus has appeal to me. I want to end up in DEN (live SLC) ASAP and prolly finish out WB FO on the west coast, or maybe NB upgrade. I've got 8, maybe 10 years left...so little time, so much to do.
I'll reluctantly give up my sushi table if the guppy is the better route, but I guess I'm still not clear that's the case based on the discussion here. Any further thoughts?

You will get to denver on either relatively quickly. The progression from there will be staggeringly faster on the 737. We are retiring almost as many a320s as we are getting new neos. The 321xlr savior not coming until end of 2026 summer and will be lucky to fly a revenue flight by October next year. Wont see it in denver for a long time. With short amount of time left go 737 all day.

As much as I hate to say it, the 737 is the way to go for much faster progression. Was on the Bus for 8 years and kept losing seniority, so I did the lateral to the Guppy. Aircraft sux compared to the Bus but my schedule is sooooooo much better. In the end, you pay me enough I’ll fly a kite.

I know it changes seemingly daily, but what's the CLE situation currently like for a potential new hire?
I've heard it's been double digit year FO's in the past to a 1.5 yr upgrade. It's where I'd want to be assuming I can land a CJO. (And if they decide to open an A320 base as well, hahaha)

really hard to say. Nobody is in that base unless they specifically want to be in Cleveland. So there are only vacancies when someone specifically wants to leave. Just depends

For a data point, 6-9 new hires that started on 9 Sept were able to get in the vacancy bid that closed 12 Sept and get Denver on the 737. Since then I think another 250 or so people have started, but I wouldn’t think jt would take to long to get to Den 737s if your starting next month.
i believe one of the classes that started in the last few weeks actually had Den 737s on their initial class bid.

And yeah, without checking I’d bet DEN 787 is probably the most senior category at this company.
