and as we get closer to bid close, it will most likely go more senior .. we have a history of last min bidders who like to lurk until the final bid

not saying it will go crazy senior but def more than its showing now

Honestly the snapshot system is pretty pointless with all the last minute bidding. But that’s just our culture here. Bid last minute. List last minute. Etc.

They published a snapshot and then took it down. That snapshot showed numerous 15,000+ seniority number people bidding guppy Captain. The snapshot was taken down and a new one put up about an hour later. There is a limit to editing posts. Either way its still 80% seniority getting Captain and less than 3 years on the property. Next months bid should be about the same but mostly Airbus Captains on that one. I was pointing out to the "it will take 5 years seniority to hold Captain" crowd that indeed that isn't the case. It looks like more than half of the CA slots on the 737 were post Covid hires. 80% is darn junior to hold Captain when you have less than 3 years on property.

Yup, surprisingly LAX 737CA going more junior than SFO 737CA.

I think a 148XX number is approximately a May--July 2023 hire. Assuming they go to training in Jan '26, that's a 2.5 year upgrade. Quite amazing. But not the 'instant upgrade' silliness that some outsiders seem to think...

Yup, all agreed. I predicted 15XXX most junior WBCA and 14xxx most junior WBFO, looks like I was a bit too optimistic. But still, as you said, a 2.5 year upgrade is crazy. Being an SFO FO as I am, I fly with incredibly junior CAs all the time (the new hire captains) so I have probably lost a little perspective on what 'junior upgrade' means lol...

Why are they stacking so many more FO's per CA in the Airbus than the 737?
They said there will be an Airbus vacancy next month. The staffing is because next summer the XLR will start flying augmented Europe trips. 2 fo's to 1 CA

From that cru I don’t think that vacancy will be big and it’s limited to 2 bases

I think crew resources changed their mind since that update. Hiring 2000-2500 new FO's in the next 12 months and only needing 200 new 73 Captains doesn't line up.

this right here is the truth. Save the first snapshot and compare to the award. Some people just like screwing with other’s emotions and snipe bid last minute 🤷‍♀️

If anyone's in the bottom handful of people in any new category, I think it's pretty expected you might get bumped off the bottom.
