Yes the offer was for CAL side. As for UAL side I have heard anything from more furloughs, March 2012, 2016,2020.

But either way I'll be sitting at the bottom of the seniority list and setting myself up for a third furlough. Thats why I said no thanks.

Who knows what the future will bring folks?

Did they call you twice for a CAL job offer? I thought they would only call once. And then, if you changed your mind you would have to call CAL and say you wanted to get back in "line".

Tony,

I do not think CAL calls you at all (unless you accept their employment offer). I got a FEDEX from CAL with no call, and by not returning the FEDEX form with an acceptance, it equaled the one bypass. After that no more FEDEX until we call/write them with at least a 30 day prior notice indicating a request to accept a future class if still open.

Unless they changed the process...

SP

Thanks SP. That is more in line with what I thought the process was.

Twice? My second furlough. I got a call then FedEx letter for class in Feb. Not sure how many more classes CAL needs to fill but if I was 03/27/2000 hire you might be able to figure out where you all stand? I bypassed in 2006 for as long as I was allowed. Good luck with your decision.

It's not real clear how far down the 1437 the last of the 178 CAL "new hires" will go. If your way down the list and are seeking the CAL deal then the supposed Jan bid at CAL is next option. Mystery surrounds it's timing and reach and the general consensus is it will not contain many vacancies. 30-50 at the most if any at all. Things won't get rolling till about this time next year it seems and that barring some major event.

However, yo neva kno.

Has anyone later than a 3/27/2000 DOH been offered a job at CAL?
