Chen is also lucky to have made it through new hire training on the 737-200. He crashed the sim on an ILS approach at least once. There is a bit more to the story/training event, but not much more to say. Basic airmanship/decision making was all that was needed to avoid the situation. But, we all know his decision making skills are in serious question. I will not disclose the source, but it is true.

Just watch what you say around him - and watch your back.

Without going into much detail, the individual was one of the sources of information to the company that resulted in the TRO. Nuff said.
I have had interaction with this individual on another subject matter, and IMO, he is not your friend. He's in it for himself. I wouldn't trust him personally.
Frats,
Lee

It's not really a matter of "volunteers" - it's a matter of JCBA. While you attempt to blame the individual for the lack of progress in the JCBA - it's not their fault - it's your leadership. Why not pound on your elected rep, you know BIBO like LEC and MEC chairman. Grandstanding does no one any good. Get involved call you elected LEC, MEC reps and tell them to get a JCBA.

Update:
I called my rep, and you were right. He wasn't aware that the L-UAL and L-CAL pilots wanted a JCBA. In his defense he did say he had been made aware of the pilots' need for a JCBA a couple of years ago, but that did not necessarily jibe with the pilots' actions. He specifically mentioned all of the "volunteers" (on both sides of the airline) who are jumping through their collective a**es to cover all of that 150% flying. He said that such actions mearly tend to mask the company's manpower issues, and are manpower negative.
In fact, the MEC and the NC have already approached Smisek and told him that the pilots want a JCBA, and that we really, really mean it. From what my rep told me, Jeffy just laughed and said, "Have you seen our on-time and completion stats? They're crazy good considering where we are right now. From where I sit, all of the pilots at UCH are happy."
My rep did say something about unionism and individual responsibility and how the individual pilots give the MECs and the JNC leverage. Yada, yada yada... I will keep hammering away at my Rep. I still don't think he believes that we want a JCBA.
