His EWR roadshow has not kicked off yet. If Motch is not under the Company's thumb tomorrow (Sat), I have NO Doubt that he'll be attending one, if not both TownHall sessions. I'm sure he'll be bringing several poignant questions/issues to the floor.....Should be good.

Till tomorrow......

Ther is nothing preventing Ual from recalling now. Most likely they will wait until the vacancies left after the Vacancy bid system wide after SLI.

One thing to think of as a UAL furloughee/cal new hire is if you are on the property that date, that vacancy bid will be your "recall" to UAL.
If you are not on the property yet than the rate of recalls may depend on the "vacancies" unfilled . As more and more new hires on the street come on the CAL property, this will delay the rate at which the UAL guys are recalled.

If you are debating needing to come back this year, I would come back now to the Cal side to be in place for that bid. If you are secure in a grat job, then wait it out.

Can s-UA wait 6-9 months for the SLI to be complete before recalling. They have unfilled vacancies now.

If you wait to be recalled to the United side, then you will not lose longevity credit for the time you actually spent at United. I was hired at United in 2000 and spent 7.5 years on the property getting 8 year pay. Upon signing the agreement, I will get 5 year pay. Although the United MEC is claiming that we will all get credit for our time at UAL + CAL, no one can show me where this is written. The SPSC reps have told me that a CAL pilot hired the same day that I was, and also furloughed for a number of years, will get full longevity credit for his years on furlough upon signing.

Are you being lied to? I don't know but if you are hired in 2008 and are currently working at 8 year pay then that is what you will get. Your post is a bit disingenuous because you really don't spell out your longevity and work situation.

Are you at sUAL or sCAL right now?
What is your current sUAL pay status? Or how many years of service as a sUAL pilot for pay purposes (do not include furlough time)?

Now with those answers here is what you should have recieved in official communication

4. Longevity clause of LOA 25 opens up all furloughees at SLI to be stapled below 2008 CAL hires. Also has the potential for negatively affecting all UAL pilots in the SLI.

No. The fact that CAL has no furloughed pilots at all is what places our 1436 in a precarious position. This TA does nothing to expand upon that disquieting fact. How that could be extended to the rest of the United list is a mystery. What is also a mystery is why anyone would try to handicap our Merger Committee’s case before it has had a chance to go forward?

Instead, what the author would suggest is that it is okay to continue to enslave our furloughed pilots who have chosen to go to Continental as new hires, currently on 1st and 2nd year pay, and keep them from immediately achieving 5th year pay at DOS of the new Agreement, doubling pay for many of them. All this would happen before seniority list integration (SLI), with a further adjustment based upon the resulting integrated seniority list (ISL). Afterwards, they will be paid based upon all the longevity they actually earned, plus all credit re-gained per LOA 25 for time on furlough. Apparently the author would prefer to defer recalls and watch Continental hire pilots off the street rather than have our furloughees take those jobs at 5th year pay.

The author has made the same error as a similarly hysterical viral-letter about the furloughs. The facts are that LOA 25 talks about longevity credit for pay for time on the street, it does not talk about seniority and it does not take away any longevity earned in the actual operation at UAL or CAL.

There has been a lot written, both official and from the NO voters about LOA25 and officially I have not seen where ANY PILOT WILL LOSE sUAL LONGEVITY for pay, in fact it appears some will actually GAIN LONGEVITY based on the finale outcome of the ISL.

I do understand not trusting what has been said from both sides and I have no idea if the LOA will change if the vote is NO. Personally I see bigger issues many of the NO voters will want changed and possibly at the cost of the LOA.

Best guess from Jay H is that yes they will try and wait it out. Rumors persist about sooner, but I won't believe it until that first guy actually starts training at TK.

Yes they have vacancies, but it will reek havoc on the Cal side if they pull them over before SLI.

Who are you, who is the "the Author", you sound like a book critic. Reread my post, I tell you my date of hire and years on the property. "Disingenioius" really? I will add that I have an additional year at CAL. The LOA's determine the implementation schedule. Why do you assume that we must wait until the SLI is complete to give the furloughed pilots flying at CAL credit for their years working for United. The only reason is because that is what they negotiated in the LOA, to further opress the pilots that have been continuously neglected by ALPA. The cost to make us whole would be under $3 million, the cost for the new hire pay raise was almost $13 million and last year Jeff made over $14 million. This is not about money, the CAL MEC right or wrong thinks it will advantage their pilots during the SLI. I think it is great that they are giving the more junior pilots an immediate bump to 5th year pay, but the reason is they are not a threat with respect to the SLI. If LOA 25 Paragraph 4 is removed from the TA, the language in the TA already states that furloughed pilots will receive longevity credit. This means a 2008 United pilot will jump to 5th year pay and a a 2000 United or CAL pilot will both jump to 12th year pay. With LOA 25 in place, the 2008 hire gets his rightful longevity and the 2000 CAL pilot gets his rightful longevity but the 2000 United pilot does not. Please show me where it is written that a furloughed United pilot will get credit for time served at both UAL and CAL upon completion of the SLI. I can tell you that it is written that we will not get any furlough credit post SLI if we end up stapled.

Cotto:

LOA 25 par 4 only talks about pay longevity CREDIT for time on furlough, not what establishes your pay longevity date. WHY are you saying that you will lose pay longevity when the LOA only talks about a CREDIT???

I have been asking my reps where in the TA it says that United pilots flying for CAL will receive credit for their time at CAL to be included in pay longevity, not one has been able to provide an answer. If it is not written in the TA, do you think the company will pay it? Upon signing the TA, everyone is immediately going to their new rate of pay except for the twice furloughed United pilots flying for CAL, why do you suppose that is? We are being asked to vote for a contract and yet we are the only group of pilots that have no idea what our rate of pay will be in 6 months after the SLI. Have you ever heard of pilots voting for a contract and not knowing what they are going to be paid?
