CAL hiring

We need to get a JCBA ASAP. The difference between what the company will eventually offer and what most people want is not that huge. Meanwhile, every day we wait, we are losing out on extra money we could be earning (Because there won't be full retro) and the bottom 1/2 UAL guys get screwed while waiting.
I've been waiting over 4 years on a 3.7 year contract. I can wait for the right contract with No Scope changes, and FULL RETRO.

All,
I know the JCBA and SLI are the 1000lb gorillas holding hands in the room. My point for this post was just to help out those looking to get a job. It would be great if we keep the thread focused on that. Please try and refrain from the debating and arguing over these items or start a new thread where it can be hashed out.
Thanks,
FBN.

1) Heavy retirement numbers starting rather soon.
2) New rest rules require increase in staffing.
3) Improvement in work rules with new JCBA would require the LCAL side to increase staffing levels.
4) Results of where furloughed UAL guys fall on the SLI could be a huge factor for who is willing to return and how soon after the list is implemented.
So those are the main issues I have heard about from insiders that could prevent a furlough of street hires. But then again, the math that has floated around about LUAL 757s parking could result in a net loss of airplanes? I am a bit unsure on those numbers.
So these factors make me personally feel that it would be worth the risk to go over there. I also am fully aware that even if I did not get laid off, I realistically would be stalled out over at the bottom for a good few years. But as alot of you guys out there will say... that is a better place to be then where I am now.

I was an 07' hire so I obviously don't have a crystal ball but I think new hires now should be in a much better position than in the past. Furloughees need vacancies in order to return, we can't just bump new hires to the street because we are senior and want to return. It sounds like staffing is lean and retirements are finally near. I was only with UAL a year but I would leave the regionals again in a hearbeat.

From an outsider looking in willing to take that chance, I have come to the conclusion that a few things would prevent a furlough. actual LUAL-LCAL guys please correct me if I am wrong.

The TA and scope section will be the one to watch. If we cave then, yes, I think we will know what the future holds. However, I think new hires are in a better spot than new hires from 05-07 for sure but I have been wrong before.

Part of the tpa is there will be no flush bid and anyone on furlough will only be able to come back when there are vacancies. So it could happen that the sli is done sometime end of next year and guys who were furloughed have hundreds junior to them, but with no hiring they have no way to get back.
