FYI, it IS in arbitration. The hearings began on Monday.

While that is pretty much what happened at DAL/NWA, the UAL/CAL lawyers are making their arguments under the revised ALPA Merger Policy (which was not in effect for DAL/NWA.)

You keep bringing up changed merger policy....

Longevity is still going to be considered as time active in the seat and not on furlough...Brucia is there to set your lawyers straight

The lawyers have also pinned all your hopes and dreams on the fact that a wide-body is the epitome and envy of the entire industry... even went as far to say that every pilot measures him/herself as how high hey can rise in the ranks and achieve a wide-body captain position. Bwahaha..really??? That's your defense and rationale for expectations???...what about guys like me who could care less about pond flying and want to remain domestic their entire career because of the negative circadian effects of long haul flying? Glad it's based on pay, block hours flown and not how big one's theoretical ego is with representation by the aircraft shell some half hatched opinion of what is defined as having 'made it' in the airlines biz

I assume that's an honest question? The honest answer is that you are free to stay in that domestic environment -- and enjoy the elevated seniority you'll have in that equip (since most pilots in the same seniority range WILL choose to fly international widebody. At UAL we would ALL have the choice.

C'mon you're smarter than that, right???..he's showing the vast difference and substandard pay the United group was at...hence the windfalls achieved by the ual pilots already in the 400 million division lumpsum/retro..don't worry it'll all be explained in detail to the ual lawyers soon.

Fun Fact: the ual lawyers weren't prepared to cross examine Dr. Campbell the first day and needed time to study up to make their 'case'

In your world I am sure you see the CAL lawyer as more successful in these cases.

Also, you have zero clue as to UAL furloughes longevity will be treated.

Based on what data? there are no numbers that can or will coroborate this. To assume that widebody is some sort of enviable position is very dangerous for your side to pin all it's hopes to, especially when it can be proven very easily, with numbers, that quality of life and pay at CAL were just as if not much better than ual's widebody fleet at the top of the scale...again, this is largely pre-merger and with both companies on their own course correction..Operating under CAL's opspec which the new United will...the widebody flying can be made more profitable and a position to rise to, but on a past efforts comparison, it will show ual bleeding out badly with its head barely above the water line. Its 3 color livery reflected that fact very well pictorially of where its priorities were pre-merger..to grab on to anyone who who have them.

Freund cracking wise and calling CAL a 'nice little airline' is going to come back and bite him in the arse...

Given the past history, it is easy to see. Fair is the key wording in the merger policy. To put a non active, unemployed pilot at a furloughing airline that is in financial trouble ahead of a working pilot at a profitable airline with longer and more rapid career expectation is not fair...regardless of how many larger airframe's due for replacement it was bringing to the table...you can't put career expectation on the size of the hull and our numbers prove that. That is the bottom line and anyone not looking at this with rose colored biased glasses inside the ual propaganda machine can see this very easily.

Based on the seniority distribution at every real global airline.

I get it - you're arguments are shaped by your current situation...and nothing I say will change thst.

At UAL we had/have a variety of flying and a choice of lifestyles available to every one of us. That's pretty valuable.
