It's good you found a new family and have had good experiences. Since you had Ben Salley explain away the "blast mail" why don't you post it here and give us the explanation that Ben gave you for authoring it. This would go a long way in healing the damage that's been done.
As a double furlougee, I don't feel I have a family...friends on both sides, but not a family.
As for Ben's explanation, call him up...he'll be more than willing to talk. I still don't like the blast mail, but it is what it is.

Using family was a poor choice but I will say the cal mec wants to staple you to the bottom of the list and the UAL MEC is fighting for a fair integration.

I won't call - As an elected rep within the seperate pilot groups and authoring something like this he owes all an explanation. I really don't expect him to address it publicly because it would admit the failures the cal mec has had.

Oh no - the reactions came well after the "blast mail". Do you really think that Salley authored/published it in a vacuum. If he did it really shows how dysfunctional the cal mec has become under pierce.
We should thank the UAL MEC for not calling him out of this - had they we would be in an all out war. The USAir/AmericaWest model would look more likely than not.
Several people on here have said Ben Salley is a stand-up guy. He should come clean and publish it for all to see and explain the reason for authoring it in the first place.

The cal mec wants to do a lot of things but in this case the arbitrators will make that decision. The days of pierce running to Fred and upper management to do a work around are over. We have a JCBA, no matter how bad, and the arbitrators covering the seniority.
It's possible they finally realized how weak their position is and that may be the reason for the Salley "blast mail".
I initially thought Salley was acting to save pierce, but it looks like the cal mec is sacrificing Salley to save itself.

WOW! That is a strong statement! Both MECs will do their best to represent their constituents. If they did anything less, it would be a disservice and misrepresentation of their duties. It's all just business, nothing personal. Getting emotional will not help, it is out of our hands. Turn your fight to management, they are the real problem here!

When your MEC is trying to staple me they have crossed the line and have placed themselves squarely into enemy territory. 16 years seniority and I get STAPLED below the bottom CAL guy.
Them's fighting words...
There is representing your guys and then there is unadulterated in your face greed. This falls into the category of unadulterated.
