And before anyone gets their panties in a wad, most of those vacancies are carried over from the previous bid.

Sounds like a smart move toward unity to me. If you don't think was planned by the company and executed just before SLI announcement you should keep you head in the sand.

Ben Sally - do you have any words for unity?

Any way to successfully bid for a commuter? Meaning being able to avoid certain block features like multiple work periods or small numbers of days off? Thanks again guys/gals. The info is very good.

Not when you are junior. PBS doesn't really care what you bid when you get down towards the bottom. As you get more senior in the seat, you can control hours flown, days off, commutability etc. The question is how long will it take you to be in the top 50% where you can have some decent control. Tough to tell.

Joe disagreed with me about the PDX-SFO commute. I'm not sure when he did it, but my opinion is that right now, any commute to the PacNW sucks. I've commuted to a lot of different cities as well, and this one can be the toughest. I'm not sure where he figured that SFO doesn't get many delays, but I can tell you that is BAD intel. SFO is a nightmare with flow.

I don't know about SFO-PDX but SFO-SEA blows. Hundreds of pilots and FA's doing it. Commuting, I mean.
