Easily!! You find traits that are common to that group and exploit them. For instance, the LUAL group has more Longevity. Policy's could be changed (jumpseating) from a Senority based system to a Longevity based system that would overly favor the LUAL group. The LUAL pilots will not be flying the 787 for a couple of years, policy's could be adopted to harm that group. ETC..... We will not be singing kumbaya anytime soon.

Its funny you look at being screwed by the other pilot group because that's probably how you think a CAL dominated MEC would treat L-UAL pilots, of course, we already know what L-CAL pilots tried to do with SLI and the last three years, so there really isn't any doubt there.

They only way I can see it is a vote for Tony is a vote for division. The new Council #5 will have a CAL Captain Rep but it doesn't have to be one that's promoting division before giving the system a chance to work. We've seen what JP did for the past 3 years. If you can't vote for the other guy, don't vote for Tony. Instead, vote for none of the above.

So far I know of one issue that awaits the combined MEC. It was put forth by LUAL. It is the jumpseat issue, that is definitely tilted to the LUAL side. I know not all think this way but the is a vocal group that has it out for CAL pilots. Be it because they believe we held up the process, are a scab airline, did not earn our dues, stole all the growth, tried to staple 3000 to the bottom, etc.... They defiantly have it out for us.

Lol, I did not do any of it, and do not agree that the CAL MEC is responsible or at fault for all of it. Regardless, different view points will remain for quite sometime and a CAL perspective is something that cal pilots would be wise in pursuing.

What happens when two guys from the same class hired the same day, show up at the same time for the jumpseat at LUAL? Is it not the SENIOR of the two that gets the seat? It is a Senority based system at LUAL, it just so happens that Senority and DOH have been the same.

Flight Deck Access
Jumpseat Authorization
MULTIPLE JUMPSEATERS
When there are multiple jumpseaters, the following guidelines are used to determine
the preferential priority (in order):
• Highest boarding priority in the Jumpseat Priority Table
• Use relative seniority for United Employees
• Use time of check in for Non United Employees

Part of the healing process is taking responsibility for your actions and the actions of those that represented you. Whether you condoned their actions or stood by hoping to benefit from their misguided deeds, you are responsible. Having said that, the UAL pilot group has been known as the Boy Scouts of the airline industry.(as characterized by the PanAm guy that got the first recorded MIG kill in Vietnam). You can go back to the Capital Merger and come forward to the CAL merger and tell/show me where the UAL pilots have dumped on ANY pilot group. Without question, the only group you'll find is the collective SCABS and that will not change.
