From previous posts it seems the closest date was usually about a month after the invite.
I was took the Hogan on a Thursday, got the invitation to continue Friday, and was offered my choice of interview dates on T/W/R of the following two weeks.

So from Hogan to fact to face could have been as quick as 5 days in my case.

FWIW I've had my app up for 3+ years, hadn't heard anything and got the invite out of the blue. I added a 737 type about a month ago, but still have no time in it. About 7000TT, 2200 747 and 777, 1000 RJ, 21 LORs, 5 internal including 1 from a CP, ex-CAL rampie.

i used 3. of which 1 was internal.
1 was was one from an FO when i was a Capt.
1 was from a Capt when i was from an FO
1 was from a Check Airman that i had handful of check rides and line checks from.

good luck to the hopeful going thru the process, and hope to see you on the line.

Was active duty for 12+ years and then in the Reserves and a civilian test/instructor pilot with foreign sales before the United call.

Received an email today to start the Hogan process from Pilot Hiring (BK)....

FWIW:

Military
~ 4980+ hrs (and counting)
~ 3670+ PIC
~ 2430+ IP
4x MWS IP certs
Masters (3.9 GPA)
Undergrad (3.6 GPA, non-technical)
5 LORs (3 internal, 1x former WG/CC, 1x current WG/CC) - all LOR's were heavy on character content.
United Military Hiring Webinar participant
No conferences
Updated apps every 3 weeks.

App has been in since July 15....

While I am far from hired, I feel fortunate to have received the invite. If anybody would like an app look over, I have some free time on my hands for the next couple of weeks (deployed).

Regional pilots should consider quitting and joining the military for a few years, then come back to work directly at United.
