Just trying to think rationally here, but why would they want more regional lift in return for this 100 seat order? The regionals are having a hard enough time filling cockpits and United knows this. Delta is suing one of their regional partners for not fulfilling their contract and canceling flights due to lack of crews so I guess I am just confused why they would want a concession for more RJs. Just give those to us too or am I way off?

I'm fine with not getting a 100 seat aircraft. Couldn't care less. Any scope relief is a NO vote from me. I was merely replying to your quote that the company was going to order the 100 seater contract extension or not, which is EXACTLY what the DAL pilots said and they were wrong. I doubt that UCH will order the 100 seater without this extension, but like I said, that makes zero difference to me at all. Order it, don't order it. Fine with me!! But scope relief is NOT on the table

It's a shame certain scabs might get a vote in this.

UAL needs the additional 76 seaters they gain (70 max I think) by purchasing the NSNB just to gain parity with Delta. Remember, Delta bought a bunch of narrowbodies following their last contract. Our scope 'one upped' Delta by requiring that the additional airframes be NSNB (thus filling a strategic gap for the company and removing the threat that we would negotiate after another carrier caved on >76 seat scope). NSNBs on the property will be a huge win for us. BUT, the company has that option without any deal here...and we shouldn't relieve ANY pressure related to scope. It's very unlikely I'd vote in favor of a resulting TA.... If they're willing to pay enough to get my attention, I suspect that they've got ulterior motives that I'm missing.

Color me jaded and skeptical.

I agree with everything you're saying. But the company could have gotten 100 seaters at any point since we signed the contract. I'm not sure they are quite as ambitious about getting them as we might think. We will see, but I'm 100% behind you that scope is not on the table. Period. End of discussion. I'm sure they know that. And if they don't, they'll find out real quick over the next 45 days

Bumped,

Good post. Scope isn't on the table. Now mgmt may try and make a plea for it but most feel that scope isn't for sale. Many are just trying to see if Oscar has actually started some change.

I think you're exactly on to it flybynuts. I got the impression from the company's initial letter that there was an opportunity for both us and them to benefit under new leadership. Hope they remember that philosophy when they negotiate, because the ONLY concession I think would be something worth discussing would be ULH flying duty times allowing us to operate in new markets. We will see!

The inflation rate is less than 1% and you're expecting a 20+% pay raise? Current US Inflation Rates: 2005-2015 | US Inflation Calculator

FYI, The Delta TA pay rates, had it been voted in, would have been 18.6% higher on 1/1/16 than our current 2015 pay rates.

Got the call from New Hampshire for the survey and I don't think it could have been anymore clear that Scope relief is an absolute non-starter for me. They offer you a chance at the end of the survey to add a specific message and that was mine.

If you give so much as a mm on scope then I vote "no", regardless of what other miracles you manage in the other areas.

Thanks for doing that.
