As much as a cheerleader Boiler and the others are, he is just stating facts, I will give him that.

J/K. We are either a little over staffed or they plan to backfill the spots with new hires at some point this year. My best guess: the airline wanted the 66 new hires but ATL (corporate HQ) hasn’t approved.

The Realignment has 66 new CPT positions and 66 FO positions in excess, for net change of zero crewmembers.
The recurred positions created by people bidding those 66 new CPT positions will be filled in accordance with the contract, just like previous vacancy bids.
After the Realignment is awarded, there may be some crewmembers still in excess positions. If that happens, a Displacement Bid will happen and people who remain in excess positions will be subject to having their equipment and/or domicile changed in accordance with 14.H. While any displacement can cause undesired movement, with all of the potential excess positions being FOs hired in the last 16 months hopefully any potential churn is minimized for those near the bottom of any F/S/D.

There will be displacements in the 74 ANC. During the first part of the system bid, all the ANC FO are hired recently, therefore seat locked. So unless enough non seat locked FO’s bid out, they will go to the displacement bid. The other displacement postings will probably take care of itself.
