Lol. I welcome the staleness and civility of our threads on APC…compared to the dumpster fire of our internal board its a refreshing alternative. 😀

I keep hearing that UPS is going to resume hiring in June.

My guess is that it will be pushed back until after the Teamster contract is settled, so August.

Maybe 100-120 total new hires for the 2nd half of the year.

UPS has told IPA leadership they expect to resume hiring this summer. The EB’s guess on when that would happen was more pessimistic than the company’s. Of course, that data was stale 30 seconds after the company passed it to the union. I’m guessing they are already greasing the skids for more new hire classes but won’t commit until they have a better idea of whether we actually need the pilots. Let’s just say life is pretty good for certain bid strategies right now.

edit: I do think there will be more new hire classes this calendar year. I don’t even have a WAG on when though.

I’ve started receiving JA calls again after 6ish months of silence, hopefully that’s a positive sign

I’ve heard different things, but was told that as long as you see LOA’s being awarded, we will not be hiring.

12 LOAs for the upcoming bid and 13 RDG lines. Unless the economy really picks up, it's going to be a while for hiring. The recent JA calls are very coincident to spring break, maybe some of out guys and gals got sick in Key West

Recently applied to UPS and the app locked. Got a phone screen and then a couple hours after I went onto UPS pilot profile just to see if anything has changed. Well on there is showed green but inactive. Is this normal when they pull your app for consideration before sending the hogan?

The relationship UPS has with technology more often than not resembles that of oil and water so it’s anyone’s guess whether what you’re seeing is expected behavior from their system. Did you discuss next steps with your screener? In general, if you were going to be passed through to the Hogan your screener should have given you idea of what to expect and how to proceed. That said, the invite typically shows up a few days following. Keep in mind, the machine has been in winter storage and may take some time to warm up.

I'm so new to all this that I'm still new with a side of newness. At many of the majors they say "apply early and often, just keep your stuff updated." I'm out of OE with 100 hours at my first commercial job post military helicopters in 757/767s. Does UPS feel the same way? Apply early and often or are they more "get out of here kid, you bother us. Come back when you're ready"?
