I know a lot of our more senior pilots who applied and got shot down. We can fly their schedules and passengers but can’t fly their metal

Some great candidates got passed over. Some great pilots got kicked out over stupid technicalities. But, some senior pilots also showed up and made total fools of themselves in Denver. People showed up in khakis, one of them yelled at an HR employee, and others showed up without resumes. It’s hard to get a good idea of how many people were in groups A and B vs group C.

I get the frustration but that mindset doesn’t help you move on.

Yep I've heard some of those same stories as well.

Those who show up with **** poor attitudes or act like jerks should be turned away and not allowed to try again.

Aviate only allows one shot. Additionally, if passed over twice in the CPP you’re not eligible for Aviate.

Some of the 'great' candidates that got passed over might have stuff in their backgrounds (DUI, violations, or a myriad of other issues) that stopped them from progressing. You'll never really know the full story of any of the rejections.

This program should be illegal. It’s basically forcing people to fly sick in hopes they don’t get kicked out of the program so they can one day fly for united.

Why do you say that? Get a doctors note and your fine. Ask me how I know.

There's a difference between being unfit to fly and needing medical attention and no one should make you decide between the two.

The intent is to cut down on abuse of sick calls but that's not the way to do it.

Not true. Attendance, even “excused” is tracked.
