Per guys who attended Flight Path, we’re supposed to have a system wide bid in November. No fences. Expecting 25 Boeing upgrades. Effective date of 4/1/2019 ish.
I'm not sure how many. There are allot of guys who plan on taking a lump sum payout for their pension. The calculation date for 2019 payouts is December 1 and the because of the increasing interest rates this last year anyone retiring after the cut off will be given a smaller lump sum. No one is sure exactly how many guys will decide to leave early vs working the first three months of 19' for free.

The reason for the using November 1st is that the company expects people to give them 30 days notice when they retire

That's great news for a system bid. I'm looking forward to not not commuting anymore.

The list isn't effective until Dec 1. If the bid opens and closes in November, it'll be legacy AS only. At least that's what I've been led to believe.

I think the company is planning on having all the IT systems fully combined by March. If they are announcing an April effective date that might imply a system wide bid.

I think there will be allot of grumbling if they don't. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed until we hear further

supposed to open and close before the combined list is accepted on Dec 1st. The effective date is historically no less than 90 days after a bid opens.

We had a Boeing bid that opened September 24th and closed October 8th with a massive 12 upgrades that’s effective April 1st 2019. So I don’t see how we could have a system wide bid with the same effective date. But who knows?

The question that remains is whether it will be a full allotment of grumbling or only a partial allotment. A lot of us are impatiently waiting to see which it will be.

Speaking of hiring. According to the Seattle base chief pilot email 15 pilots hired 2 weeks ago and 48 more to be interviewed before the years end.

Soooo are these 15 in addition to those who started class in the fall?

I believe the 4 classes run this fall were to fill a vacancy bid for 40 in SEA and 6 in LAX. Are the 15 hired a part of that or were they hired due to additional attrition?
