They just made the announcement now. They maybe told the union an hour or two ago. How should the union respond in such a short window?

My numbers were for the whole month of May dude, and my numbers are really accurate. Alaska hopes to run 70ish% load factors June, July, and August... with about 30-35% of the capacity we were planning on this Summer, with a yeild that would make you blush. October we hope to be at 40% capacity with 45% load, November 55% capacity with 50% load, December cross your fingers 60/60 then soften a little until late spring. Summer of 2021 will be a smashing success, if we can run 70/70 for that three month period. Yield is way down though, if all that happens and yield goes to were we expect, ‘2021 full year will be break even or a trickle profit.

So this is how it goes. I get a text... Big downgrade bid coming... I ask where how many Captains? I get A320SFO/LAX, 120 Captains... So that is what I post. I get Company is 18% over staffed on pilots, company is anticipating furloughing 12.5%. I ask what are the chances? I get back 90%. I break out my calculator 3080 - 12.5% = 385. I ask... Any idea when the bid will post? Get back... “should be Thursday, there seems to be some confusion though, I don’t think anyone is playing nice at this point.”.... Does the union know there is a surplus of pilots.... “yes they were told”... Do you get it ElastaGirl321

New line on here is going to be... “Company is bluffing, it won’t really happen.” Sorry, I tried to help and most of you were way to smart, way to informed to listen. Angry8, Angry8 yah team!

Not this again... ok check back in three weeks, I have only been honest with you. The Union already knows we will be 20 percent smaller summer 2021 compared to 2019... they are still arguing about what that really means, what it looks like. Fine, sorry they are incapable of figuring this out and how it translates.
Fear mongering would be telling you we are furloughing 1,000 and the company is going bankrupt and we need to all take a 25% pay cut. I don’t believe any of that. We are a really conservative company, they will cut deep to preserve shareholders equity. I bet we make 400 million next year. But we will be smaller, we will furlough close to 400, we will downgrade 200. I was furloughed, I found out the day it happened, no notice. I have the gouge, I was just doing what I wish my union would have done for me, so many years ago. Check back in three weeks, tell me I was fear mongering.
