What's the angry 8? Time for a history lesson?
Also... worth noting that digital forensics indicate that OTZ/MEA is most likely a line pilot, not an outside agent or non-pilot manager (he might possibly be a management pilot who flies regularly).

Its OTZs reference to the VX pilots. He openly has distain for us, maybe because his interaction with us is based off this message board.

I also is because we have been "vocal" in displaying our disgust for the legacy AS pilots previous methods to contract negotiations, especially lack of scope protection. Basically bending over for B+B with zero awareness of the entire industry contract improvements.

My guess is this OTZ guy is a line pilot that is a want to be management pilot that never got the job. He probably has done some Union volunteer work as well. He likes the listeners on here to believe he has some sort of inside information. That is laughable and sad at the same time. It’s laughable because the senior leaders at AS don’t know what that plan is for next year much less any of the management pilots. What is sad is the vulnerable pilots on this board are taking his BS as valid. For those of you at AS in the bottom 25% of the list, take his information for what it is. He is throwing darts at the board and posting on here claiming he is in the know.

I already have a monkey for dart throwing.
I’m only a couple years in here and I’ve made a lot of realizations about the management team in that short time. The six corporate values, “do the right thing” etc. only apply to frontline employees. It also seems like they are incapable of sticking with a plan: most west coast etc.
I’ve been planning on a furlough since March. Hopefully it won’t happen.
I don’t need some half witted arctic eagle to tell me this airline doesn’t care about its people, wont come up with an early retirement package worth laughing at and the pilots at the bottom of the list will be treated like they always are. Garbage.

Why would I chance a guess at an extremely fluid and dynamic situation? I don’t need pilot forums for my ego and the chances one will wind up looking foolish are quite high.
Besides everyone on the bottom of the list knows the axe will fall. It only creates stress and worry if I claimed to have inside information on where exactly the axe will land. I wouldn’t want to do that to anyone.

So I hope everyone this morning finally realizes my frustration. Yes, c-19 has caused chaos in flight ops, but how long will the union burry its head in the sand? Are you guys certifiably crazy? How many times must you be told? Protect your most vulnerable, don’t lie to them tell there is no time left. Union sits down with management, no joke, management says we are 20% fat on pilots, union honestly doesn’t hesitate, looks them in the eyes and says “it’s because you need to add a significant number more Captain positions, especially in California, we told you that.” You guys ask me, “Did you give your information to the union? Yes, me management, probably countless others. Are you kidding me, how can you help when you are living in some alternative reality?

Focusing on OTZ and/or MEA just isn’t the right direction. Even if you assume they are line pilots trying to do the “right thing” for pilots, they are still referencing managements view of the situation.
Let’s be honest, management does not have “our” interests in mind. I think we can all agree on that. Now we can ask ourselves, Is the management of Flight Ops competent? I’d say judging by the volume of demonstrable errors on their part in the wake of this pandemic it’s easy to question their competence. So you have corporate assets that don’t care about you or your contract and they are quite possibly incompetent...
Those number that OTZ post could absolutely be the “truth” that Flight Ops management sees. But have they explored innovative ways to solve these problems? Hell, they can’t execute a bid and it sounds like we a STILL waiting to actually negotiate early out options....
All Im saying is OTZ isn’t the problem, managements questionable competence is.
