Not arguing your personal priorities, just want you to be well informed. In this day and age many outsiders just don't understand some of the upsides to 121 simply because it's getting into the hard-to-believe realm for the average American.

Also while we all know that money can't but happiness, lack of money can certainly impede happiness

But don't miss your kids growing up, that's priceless. I slow-rolled my career in part for that reason.

Fair enough, I understand all the main options. My plan is to increase my income, do something I love and be near my family as much as possible.

True I could make more over time at a legacy but honestly money is not everything (not everyone is money hungry). Quality of life NOW and being with my family now is MUCH more important. My point is I can make significantly more move than I currently make AND have a great quality of life NOW doing something I love. Down the road pay may be more than I expect and if so cool. If not I can deal with it. I am just saying it seems like a good place for lots of people and I think it is funny all those who say otherwise but don’t leave.

To me it is not worth 3-6 years of 12-18 nights a month on the road to hold a day trip better paying job later.

Just my opinion as an outside perspective looking in.

A lot more than just pay at the Legacy or others. Retirement, and probably more importantly Long term Disability if you can not fly. Some of those things should be considered. For some of your other questions, the best option for any career Allegiant or other is getting 121 time. So the faster you get to a Regional Airline it starts to open options. Yes in today's market, you can bypass that option with Ameriflight and Like Places. I would still say the best option to grow is to get on with a Regional get some flying experience and gauge the market. I have seen others post comments that they tried to jump right to a bigger airline and were not successful at the training, something like that can harm your career a lot more than taking a year or two to gain good experience in an RJ. Get the Min for them apply to them all and take the best offer. If they have a flow great and you could still go to options like Allegiant from any of those.

I think it’s been in that realm for some time now. Even in middle of the last decade.

Sure year 1 sucks a bit for some but that quickly changes. It would take me 6-10 years to make 100k in my current job. Based on my basic info of Allegiant in 6-10 years I’ll be making $120k and possibly $200k+ if I make captain in 10 years. And that includes the next 6-8 months of time building. So I get more pay and I don’t have to live in a hotel 3 nights a week. I see my family regularly. Plus in a couple years when the contract is re-negotiated I could be making more. I see it as an all around win!

I'm a Frontier pilot and I was curious if I could get a little update on how your contract negotiations are going? Appreciate any input. Thanks

Our Union President says we are making huge progress and should have a deal soon.

We are in the middle of mediation. It’s very slow progress. We are also in the middle of a union officer election that could have an impact.

Tom - so you don’t believe AR when he says we are making huge progress?

I don't believe he said we are making huge progress. He did say however we may be close on TA a section. I'm guessing you didn't participate in the quarterly meeting on Monday night. I didn't hear any questions come from you nor did you inquire on how Andrew gets paid.
