The daily negative press ALG got on the local news, both TV and radio when they would strand pax for up to a WEEK in HNL really undid any advertising campaign they tried. It was a serious drumbeat of another ALG horror story after another in the local press when they began service to Hawaii. There are some strong links to HAL in HNL, so some bad press was to be expected, but ALG continually fed them with "Plane cancelled to EUG, next avail flight, next WEEK!".

Meh, you can already use it....
Just go to https://mykcmsupport.com and click sign up, put in your name, address, phone, select Allegiant Air, put in ID, the barcode is optional. Once that's done you can use KCM without the barcode for now per the FAQ, just need your badge and a government ID, they can manually put you in at an access point.

So how does not having SIDA anymore and having KCM work for those in bases that dont have KCM stations such as; SFB.....PIE......IWA......BLI......AVL? I guess you can mesmerize over your barcode as you go thru your daily TSA abuse?

Most of our stations are small and our agents know us on a first name basis. Remember, doing mostly day trips we don't carry roller boards. We just walk up in the crew lane (skipping the line) go to the pre-check, empty pockets, and put the day bag through the scanner. I don't carry a laptop, just spare set of clothes and other necessities if we end up at a hotel. When I used to be based at PIE we weren't even required to go through the TSA checkpoint, we just entered through the crew room door behind the ticket counter.
Then I walk through the terminal to the gate. The CAs usually do the walk-arounds here but if I do it I just stay in the shadow of the aircraft.
KCM would be nice, but considering the TSA checkpoint rarely takes more than 3 minutes (literally) I'm not worried about it. I'm actually more worried that if we had it I'd see $2.00 subtracted every pay period like my buddy told me at Mesa.
Again, there's a TON of issues here, but this is probably the least of them. If you want to call it an issue.

The TSA is the least of our problems here.

At our airport we have company SIDA badges. We just scan our badge, check in at the gate, scan our badge at the jetway and then off to the aircraft. The only time I see TSA is when I'm deadheading, non-reving or TSA is doing a search of the aircraft. KCM would be nice, but not necessary at all.

It is nice for the guys that have SIDA badges, but like I said with all the other issues this is at the bottom of the list. Showing up for a day trip at AVL, BLI, or PGD with a lunch box and no one in the pre-check in front of you is a far cry from going through security at LGA, LAX, or ATL with a rollerboard and full kit.
Shoot, I've 15+ people at the KCM in PHL and JFK before.

Hey guys. Does Allegiant supply headsets for the pilots? If not, any recommendations for the MD vs AB? If they do supply them, does anybody bring their own?
As far as KCM vs SIDA, one of the nice things about KCM is there is no class to go to. You can be out of uniform and still use it. But not a lot of smaller airports are going to have it. I commute (for now) out of BHM and we don't don't have it. They go back and forth on letting us use the precheck lane as well.
