We'll see what happens with the FAA audit scheduled for the 2nd quarter (same type of audit that got training shut down a couple years back). Lots of nervous people from what I'm gathering.

If miss rigging flight control surfaces and falsely annotating maintenance records doesn't at least get the airline shut down for a bit. Will indicate a blatant lack of oversight by the FAA. Fines, shut down of the maintenance department; like what was done to the training department. And upper Allegiant management in handcuffs would be appropriate.

Default voluntary TDY

Does anyone know how the voluntary TDY works, in I assume you bid for it month by month, specifying the base(s) your willing to go to. hotel, car and per diem are included. Can you be reimbursed in compensation if you do not need the car/hotel? I thought you could get some percentage of it back if you dont use it. any info from anyone in the know would be helpful. thanks, Jeff

It's the hotel option, get 50% of the allowed hotel rate. I think there used to be a car option as well but I thought I heard it went away, could be wrong though.

every time this audit happens, they end up changing their management structure slightly in response to the negative findings. and every time the faa "buys" this. wash, rinse, repeat...

Lack of oversight by the FAA. Enabling criminal maintenance practices, I guess they don't call it the tombstone agency for nothing. Wonder how the flying public would view these findings after a ValuJet-2 type catastrophe. Of course Allegiant management is well practiced on their alibi’s.
