The Florida bases use solar deicing when necessary. And that is exactly what they do, tow the full plane out in to the sun and let it sit until the frost has melted.

I heard a rumor that allegiant was parking the 757. Is there any truth to that at all?

Yes, parking two this year and the rest phased out over the next two years.

We're pulling out of the Hawaii market and focusing on moving to a single fleet type with the Airbus.

It's been a while but they just said to expect to hear from HR. So no, not officially that I can remember.
