How long will it last?

As predicted, POTUS is now indicating he's in favor of a broad stimulus deal. His abrupt stop a few days ago was to posture and get media attention. It's probably also occurring to him that sending out more $1200 checks with his name and signature on them might be good PR less than a month before the election. Like I said, predictable. What's also predictable is that Pelosi will try to stall until after November 3rd to deprive him of this.

AAL appoints union-buster Doug Steenland to BOD.
Unfortunately, with the ever increasing reality of bankruptcy heading out way, we all should be worried about liquidation instead of how long we will be out on furlough.
We need to be concerned with....Will there be an Airline to come back to?

Their politics is highly different than Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles, Chicago, and New York City.

Having said that ... unions never come out on top during BK.
I have dealt with 4 BKs during my 47 year aviation career. Not fun.

Well shucks, if we're doing that, might as well split Florida up too, since south Florida has remarkably different politics and demographics than north Florida. Same thing for Pennsylvania, every single state in Northern New England, etc... The list could go on and on, since outside of the south, the divide tends to be more urban vs. rural. Might be better off that way since both PA and FL have more recently been swing states with a lot of votes. Or we could eliminate the electoral college and adopt proportional representation like Europe, and allow whoever actually wins the majority of the popular vote to be President. Nah, we'll never do that.

NWA flight attendants were not a fan of him, he reportedly tried to use cheaper foreign nationals on international flights versus US citizen flight attendants.
ALPA was not a fan, he reportedly obtained concessions from Pilots then made 26M when they exited Ch.11 (filed under his watch)
welcome aboard Dave

Other side of the recovery I see Jetblue, Alaska, American becoming “ONE WORLD” I mean one airline, much smaller American Airline due to overlaps.
I see that Breeze if it ever lift-off will grow, Frontier grows, Spirit grows, Allegiant grows, Southwest grows, United & Delta strategically grows International markets with better margins than today.
I see that UPS as a much larger airline. Same with FedEx due to International growth recovery, Big Pharma, and alternatively known E-commerce giants growth such as Walmart, Target, Ebay, Alibaba, Tencent. DHL is also growing.
Largest growth year over year for the next 10 years will be Amazon. As such ACMI/Charter cargo carriers will have tremendous growth due to the E-commerce giant Amazon’s 30% growth each year in the aviation sector fueled by this Pandemic, ignited by demand. I also foresee a merger or two within the ACMI/Charter cargo sector.

The airline's chief executive, Douglas M. Steenland, said in a statement early Saturday, "The Northwest final offer was fair to our employees while recognizing the need for equitable labor costs savings from all labor groups so that Northwest could restructure successfully."
Northwest immediately said it would replace any worker who participated in the strike, and vowed to keep flying a full schedule of domestic and international flights despite the walkout. In the last several months, the airline had spent more than $100 million to hire and train 1,500 substitutes, many of them licensed mechanics who had worked at other airlines. The airline had also hired and trained 1,100 substitute flight attendants, in case their union stages a sympathy strike.

Earlier this month Northwest Airlines, the fifth largest carrier in the US, sent soon-to-be-laid-off customer service workers and baggage handlers a handbook with “tips” for managing their unemployed state. The four-page booklet, “Preparing for a Financial Setback,” contains a section entitled, “101 ways to save money.” Among its patronizing or insulting suggestions: urging workers to shop in thrift stores and not be “shy about pulling something you like out of the trash.”
