They are due to start calling actual “new” people any week now. And if they are doing 3 classes a month at 45 people each, they probably need to do a lot of interviews so it’s quite possible that it’s legit even if poorly worded and unexpected.

Supposedly AA is going to start hiring in a really big hurry and is behind, so they sent those out. They thought hey had 45 candidates from WIA, but many were previously hired at other airlines and not available. So...they are sending out invites very quickly.

Good luck and take advantage of it. It means getting in ahead of the massive hiring wave that is about to hit.

180 per month estimated new hires starting in January 2022. That is right around the corner.

Just watched his YouTube video, he wants us all to know his internal recommendations handed to him by his father is normal in this industry, but his “networking” is what really got him the mainline job 😃😃 (Yeah he really made a great reputation for himself with UA folks). My favorite line was “If everyone is talking bad about me, obviously I must be doing something right” 😂😂😂.

Honestly, I’m the same age as Garret, it’s not a maturity issue that will fade as he grows older and wiser, he’s just massive ass. “It is what it is” though, I’m sure the HR department loves the guy.

I asked on Envoy, as well…the most AA has hired in a year was 1206. That is 100 per month. Does the schoolhouse have capacity for 180? Specifically, is there sufficient simulator time? Have they installed more? Or what?

All the majors are going to be hiring record breaking, maxed out. I would think any contract simulator time would be fought over.

Wow I’d never heard of him until today and I had to check out. I would describe him as having the positivity of Ted Lasso mixed with the look at me arrogance of Paris Hilton / Kim Kardashian. There is some reasonable advice which is probably helpful or maybe motivating to some. The problem is for every 60 seconds of advice you have to slog through five minutes of him driving his BMW, him talking about himself working out, him actually working out, him talking about how he plans to recover from his workout, him waving around a pink post workout protein drink bottle, him talking about clothes, him trying on clothes, him wearing a pilots uniform, him showering his dog, him talking about riding a moped in Italy and discovering that his friend can use someone they sat next to, etc.

Then he defends himself by saying something along the lines of “if haters are talking about you then you’re doing something right,” which is of course nonsense. Haters talk about Hitler, I wonder what Garrett likes about Hitlers self promotion and career progression? Calling critics ignorant hasn’t been done this well since the Michael Jackson interview (by the way, Michael Jackson had a lot of influence and is someone that could easily advance your career so grab your sleeping bag and your overnight kit for a sleepover at Mikes and enjoy the rapid career progression)!

Anyway, decent advice wrapped up in some obnoxious packaging. But hey, good for him for landing his dream job. Hopefully he gets the Airbus so he can put a small travel vanity on the tray table and admire his biggest fan all flight long.
